Have you ever heard someone talk about the power of thought? Our mind has a remarkable influence over us. What is on our minds influences the way that we act. Reflect on this for a moment: When something makes us angry, the more we think about it, the angrier we get. When we are sad, it can seem like our mind is a dark room full of sad thoughts. Anyway, our thoughts influence us a lot.
The LORD has been impressing in our hearts the battles of the mind that have increased exponentially over the last few months. Today we shall begin a short series on understanding the mind. Welcome and share this sermon with someone who you think needs to hear it.

Jonah is unique among the books of the prophets, which are typically collections of God’s words spoken through a prophet. This book doesn’t really focus on the words of a prophet; rather, it’s a subversive story about a prophet who resents his God for loving his enemies.The prophet Jonah appears only one other time in the Old Testament, during the reign of one of Israel’s worst kings, Jeroboam II. Jonah prophesied in his favor, promising that he would win a battle and regain territory on Israel’s northern border (2 Kgs. 14:23-25) Now, it’s important to know that the prophet Amos confronted Jeroboam II and that, through him, God specifically reversed Jonah’s prophecy (Amos 6:13) You who rejoice in Lodebar, And say, “Have we not by our own strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?” 14“For behold, I am going to raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel,” declares the Lord God of hosts, “And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath To the brook of the Arabah.”). Amos promised that Jeroboam II would lose those same territories because of his sin. So before Jonah’s story even begins, we’re already a bit suspicious of this character.More on this? Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV

So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

God is looking for a man to stand in the gap. He is looking for an intercessor; a prayer warrior who will stand up for their generation, their family, their relatives and their friends! Are you going to be that man, that woman who won't settle until they come to see the will of God come to pass in their lives and in the lives of those around them!

The human heart, in its natural condition, is evil, treacherous and deceitful. Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” In other words, the Fall has affected us at the deepest level; our mind, emotions and desires have been tainted by sin—and we are blind to just how pervasive the problem is. We may not understand our own hearts, but God does. He “knows the secrets of the heart” (Psalm 44:21; see also 1 Corinthians 14:25). Jesus “knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man” (John 2:24-25). Based on His knowledge of the heart, God can judge righteously: “I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings” (Jeremiah 17:10). Jesus pointed out the fallen condition of our hearts in Mark 7:21-23: “From within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality.. More? Listen in to this sermon.

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
    but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

To defer means to delay or postpone something. Therefore 'hope deferred' means hope delayed or hope postponed. From this explanation, we can now understand the context verse better. Therefore 'Hope deferred makes the hear sick' means that once you've put your hope on someone and they delay to make good on what they said, you will lose heart.

Matthew 26:22-23 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Eph.6:10-13 [NIV] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

The gifts of the Spirit are not meant to be used to manipulate others, or to get our way. They are meant to be used with love. Whenever the Holy Spirit administers a gift to you, it is not for your own benefit; it is for the benefit of your fellow brethren.

1 Cor. 12:4-8

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,

The gift of word of knowledge is an utterance gift. In the above scripture, we see that it is WORD of knowledge, not WORDS. What is a word? It is a FRAGMENT of a sentence. Therefore, a word of knowledge is a fragment of someone's knowledge. This gives us the definition of the gift of word of knowledge; it is a fragment of the knowledge of God.

1 Corinthians 12:1-3 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb[b] idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Paul says that concerning spiritual gifts, he does not want us to be IGNORANT. It is our responsibility as Christians to not only learn about the gifts of the Holy Spirit but to also manifest and walk in them. A bondservant is a slave who willingly decides to stay with his master even when he is free to leave. This means that the person will no longer be treated as a slave, but as an extension of the family.

Eph. 6:5-7 Bondservants,[a] obey your earthly masters[b] with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 

Paul says here that we are 'bondservants of Christ'. That means that our purpose is to carry out the will of Jesus in this world.

Ps. 84:1-7 How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young— Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, My King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Selah Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. Acts 9:15-16 [NIV] But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” 'There is no glory without sacrifice.'

For us to fulfil our destinies, we need to undergo seasons of preparation. Preparation is often painful and stressful. This is necessary for us to be able to bear the fruits that God desires. We need to be willing to push through the suffering and fulfil God's plan for our lives.

A human being is consisted of three parts: mind, body and soul. We are naturally predisposed to follow our body's instincts. That is why things such as eating and sleeping are so easy to do. However, from the word of God, we learn that we are meant to be led by the Spirit of God.

Rom. 8:14 [NKJV]

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Therefore, a large part of our work as Christians is training ourselves to listen to our spirit rather than our bodies.

Psalms 91:1-2 [NKJV] He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Divine protection is real. If God were to reveal to us how many things He has protected us from, our mouths would be filled with appreciation rather than complaining. The closer we are to God, the easier it is for Him to protect us because we will be sensitive to His leadings and nudging. Choose to be led by the Spirit of God, choose to be spiritual. That is the safest place to be as a Christian.

Mt. 5:43-44 [NKJV]  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,  The biggest proof of your love is SACRIFICE. Loving people is never and will never be easy. The walk of love needs us to constantly focus our gaze on God and not on men; that way, we draw of God's love then dispense it to others.

This week, purpose to walk in love towards your boss, your relatives, your colleagues and even towards those who hurt you. That is the kind of life we have been called to live as Christians.

1 Corinthians 13:13 [13]And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Love is for mature believers! Love is what sets you apart as a Christian. Jesus Christ said: Matthew 7:20 [20]Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Today, choose to walk in love. Let this sermon minister to your spirit. Let the love of God be shed abroad your heart. Love keeps us in unity and faith. It keeps us from offenses, bitterness as well as all the wiles of the devil. Choose to start walking in love today.

Jeremiah 18:1-6 [NIV]
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
God has your life in His hands. Let Him decide what to do with you. When you surrender to the Lord, you begin to truly enjoy the benefits of being a Christian. As you listen to this sermon, let it minister to you and let it shape your thinking.

Luke 16:11 [11]Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 'Unrighteous mammon' in this context means money. This scripture states that money is an object that God uses to test whether you are capable of handling true riches. That means that God is interested in how you spend your money! He wants to see how you handle it so that He can determine whether you are capable of handling true riches! Interesting, right? 1 Timothy 4:8 [KJV] For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Exercise is never easy, or sweet. It involves a lot of pain, sweating and fatigue. But with enough rest, consistency and drive; it will eventually bear fruit. Likewise, spiritual exercise is tideous, painful and oftentimes frustrating; but eventually, it bears fruit! So don't give up on prayer! Don't give up on studying the Word! Push on! Keep on exercising yourself unto godliness. It shall bear fruit.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Athletes are renown globally for being commited and disciplined. They train everyday and follow a strict diet. They spend majority of their lifetime either on the field or in the gym. Their lives are basically founded on the sport they subscribe to.

I have a question: as a Christian, can the same be said about you? Do you exercise spiritually everyday? Are you on a strict diet of spiritual material? Spiritual songs? Spiritual books?......

Every new creation believer has the obligation to renew their mind. How do you renew your mind? By reading the Word of God. Whenever you read the Word of God, your mind begins to turn away from the system of the world and turns to the system of the spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:17 [17]Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. When you got saved, a change took place in you spirit-man. The old was done away with and you were born anew. Because of this, you should no longer define yourself by who you used to be, but who you are in Christ Jesus. The challenges that we face as Christians is majorly because we do not understand our identity in Christ. Genesis 26:12 [NKJV] Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. Isaac reaped a hundredfold during famine. Logically, this sounds impossible. In fact, he should've made losses rather than a profit. But from the Word of God, we can learn that God's instructions often do not make sense in the logical world. God will lead you to do things that won't make any sense to you, but all He is interested in is your OBEDIENCE. Daniel 7:25 [TPT] He (the Devil) will speak blasphemous words against the Most High and try to wear down the holy ones of the Most High. He will try to alter the set periods of time and change God’s decree, and the saints will be subjected to his power for a time, times, and half a time. Discouragement is described in the dictionary as losing confidence in something. In the Christian context, discouragement comes from the devil. And it is used by the devil as a weapon to get us to stop serving God or stop praying. We can easily get discouraged when things don't go our way, but God wants us to see His plan for our life and to keep pushing on even when we don't see results.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The Word of God should be handled in three stages: Observation, Interpretation and finally, Application. As Christians, we often miss the second step, which is actually the most important since it builds the foundation of our doctrine. Therefore we need to take time to listen to sound teaching and to be guided on how to correctly interpret the Word.

2 Tim. 3:16 [KJV]  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. The scriptures of God are given to us to teach us how we are meant to lead our lives as Christians. If you take time to study your Bible, you will realise that it has instructions and examples on how to lead every aspect of your Christian life. From the text above, we can see that Christ said all Scripture speaks about Him. Today, we learnt that 'the Scriptures' are the books of The Bible from Genesis to Malachi. Therefore, it is evident that the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelations speaks about Jesus. So we should see Jesus both in the Old and the New Testament.

God has no problem blessing you, what He's worried about is if the blessings will take you away from Him. Make a personal decision to LIVE FOR CHRIST. With or without riches, with or without answered prayers. Choose to be totally SOLD OUT to Jesus and to the plan that He has for your life.

Exodus 25:8-9 [NKJV]

 8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.

As you journey in your walk with God, do you realize that God wants you to build according to the pattern He has shown to us in the scriptures? Well, in case you do not know, I am telling you now. God does not want us to just adopt anything we find in this world.

Beloved, there is a pattern that God wants you to use in building your life, there are principles He wants you to adopt so that you can get a different result from what the world gets.

Today, choose to build according to God's plan.

1 Samuel 30:7-8 [NKJV]

Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

This February, may God give us the straegy to pursue, overtake and recover. May God show us where we went wrong, may He reorder our steps and place us in the right path. I pray that you will recover all that you have lost in Jesus' name!

1 Corinthians 10:13 [NLT] The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

This February, God is leading us toward praying to know His strategy for our lives. No matter what situation you're in, God has a way out for you! Trust in His leading and you will see His hand deliver you. Join us this month as we pray to God to reveal to us His strategies for our lives.

John 3:16(NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

His will to give us salvation through the ultimate sacrifice of His dear Son, Jesus Christ, has been evident from the book of Genesis to the book of Malachi. In this sermon, Minister Francis explains how Jesus Christ was the principle message of the 37 books of the Old Testament.

Hebrews 6:13-18

13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”[d] 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

16 People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 

Immutability means the ability of something or someone to stay a long time without changing. Therefore, the immutability of God's counsel means that God's purpose through His counsel/Word never changes. It is eternal, it never fails nor changes. It remains the same throughout eternity.

"What is this will of God for my life?" You may ask. The will of God for your life through His Word is: goodness, love, charity, abundance, long life and so on and so forth.

Do you realize that the desire to improve your life with each new year began in the heart of God?
As each year draws to a close, people often reflect on what they intended to achieve during the past year.
Some may look back feeling satisfied with what they accomplished, while others may feel quite dissatisfied.

Typically, those who look back with satisfaction also look forward to greater accomplishments in the upcoming year.
However, the same can be true for those dissatisfied with last year's achievements. These people can make a New Year's resolution to improve in the new year that lies before them.
Like most people, you have probably made New Year's resolutions to lose weight, exercise regularly, eat better, get a new job, start investments, or somehow improve your quality of life. 
But do you realize that the desire to improve your life with each new year began in the heart of God? 

What is to endure?

It means to suffer something difficult, unpleasant, or painful:

The journey of faith is really not for the faint hearted. From the moment you get born again you and I have been enlisted as soldiers of Christ in his battalion. We have been accustomed to a battle free Christianity for so long that when challenges come our way, we are not wired to handle them and so we cower and hide and cast aspersions that this GOSPEL or MESSAGE does not work.

HEAR THIS! HARDSHIP IS PART OF THE JOURNEY!

You better begin accepting this hard truth that HARDSHIP is part of the journey. But be full persuaded that you are not alone and that you have overcome.

To be holy means to be cut off, or separate, from everything else. It means to be in a class of your own, distinct from anything that has ever existed or will ever exist. QADOWSH means a second thing: to be holy means to be entirely morally pure, all the time and in every way possible.

When you put these two elements of holiness together, you're left with only one conclusion: that the Lord of hosts is the sum and definition of what it means to be holy. He occupies a moral space that no one has ever occupied before, and as such, we have no experience or frame of reference to understand what he is like because there's nothing like him.

There's even more to be said. God's holiness is not an aspect of who he is or what he does; no, God's holiness is the essence of who he is. If you were to ask, "How is the holiness of God revealed?" the only right answer would be, "In everything he does." Everything God thinks, desires, speaks, and does is utterly holy in every way.

God is holy in every attribute and every action: He is holy in justice. He is holy in love. He is holy in mercy. He is holy in power. He is holy in sovereignty. He is holy in wisdom. He is holy in patience. He is holy in anger. He is holy in grace. He is holy in faithfulness. He is holy in compassion.

He is even holy in his holiness!

What does it mean to revive?

It means to restore to life or consciousness, it means to regain life, give new strength or

energy. REVIVAL IS THE ACT OF BEING REVIVED, RENEWED ATTENTION TO OR INTEREST IN

SOMETHING.

It’s like a rebirth or a re-awakening, an invigorating experience where the Holy Spirit moves

freely among believers, setting their hearts on fire for the Lord.

It is interesting to note that after our LORD Jesus was crucified, the Apostles actually went

back to their earlier trade. Peter went back to fishing. Until he again encounters the

resurrected master who calls him back to his call.

Philippians 1:3-6 (NKJV) 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

When Paul penned these encouraging words, he was shackled in a prison in Rome. He had been locked away for two years and during that time church leaders in Rome turned against him. They were so jealous of Paul they refused to accept his pastoral care. At times these leaders ignored Paul.

At other times they circulated vicious gossip about him. They even harassed Paul, stooping to the point of intercepting his mail. According to the apostle, these sinful men “preach(ed) Christ of contention” and with “envy and strife”

Yet through all of these trials, Paul maintained a joyful and forgiving spirit. He was saying to the congregation at Philippi, “Some of these men are so envious of me they are distorting the gospel they preach. They preach contention and division.

Creativity Is the Search for Solutions.

Let me illustrate. In large gatherings of the past, speakers could not be heard clearly. So, microphones and public address systems were created. Eyeglasses were created for those who have difficulty seeing.

Problems are the catalysts for creativity. When an inventor—whether it is Thomas Edison or whomever—invents something, his creativity is based on an existing problem.

He solves the problem, and he is rewarded accordingly.

Why did you buy your car? Because it solved a transportation problem.

Why do you watch the news each evening on television? It solves an information problem.

So, every part of you has an Assignment, a problem to solve. Your eyes have the Assignment of seeing. Your ears solve the problem of hearing.

Adam had a problem. So, God created a solution, Eve. “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him,” Genesis 2:18.

Each one of us is a solution.

What is destiny?

According to the dictionary, destiny is defined as the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future.

Now there is a difference between FATE and DESTINY

While 'fate' and 'destiny' are often used interchangeably, they have subtle differences in meaning, with 'fate' implying inevitability and lack of control, while 'destiny' suggests purpose and personal agency.

'Fate' refers to the idea that events are predetermined and cannot be changed. It implies a sense of inevitability or a lack of control over the course of one's life. Fate is often associated with the idea of a higher power or supernatural force that shapes the course of events. As such, it can sometimes have negative connotations, as it suggests a lack of control and a sense of resignation to one's circumstances.

'Destiny', on the other hand, implies a sense of purpose or direction in one's life. It suggests that there is a goal or destination that a person is meant to reach, and that their actions can influence the course of events. Destiny is often associated with the idea of personal agency or free will.

Now the biblical definition of DESTINY is the purposes of God concerning your life and their fulfilment.

Ephesians 2:10 AMP For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

From this text we see that God has a plan, a purpose, a destiny and an assignment for all of us.

God doesn't make any junk! Everything that He makes is valuable. In fact, after six days of creation, Scripture says, "Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good" (Genesis 1:31).

Your destiny is the customized life calling God has ordained and equipped you to accomplish in order to bring Him the greatest glory and achieve the maximum expansion of His kingdom.

Once you understand that God has a plan for you and that there is an assignment and a purpose for you on this earth you will start being time conscious about time and mush more why you exist.

Hebrews 12:22 NKJV But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

My good God!

You have come into Zion; you have come to the CITY OF THE LIVING! To an innumerable company of angels, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, the church of the 1st born who are REGISTERED in HEAVEN!
YOU ARE A JUST MAN, MADE PERFECT…

Lamentations 3:22 TLB his compassion never ends. It is only the Lord's mercies that have kept us from complete destruction. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his loving-kindness begins afresh each day.

Mercy in the Bible is God’s withholding of a just punishment. The particular Hebrew word used in Lamentations 3:22 has to do with tender love, great and tender mercy, or pity. The same word is used in Isaiah 63:7 and translated “compassion”: “I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the LORD has done for us—yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.” The Lord has pity on His suffering children; in fact, His mercies are new every morning.

Whether or not believers are victorious over the devil depends on what view they have of themselves as the Church — militant, defeated, or triumphant.

The militant Church depicts a body of believers who are not yet seated in heavenly places in Christ and are still “battling” to try to gain the victory over an enemy that hasn’t been defeated yet by the Lord Jesus Christ.

The defeated Church also gives us a picture of a Church which is ignorant of the fact that they are seated with Christ and that they are supposed to be reigning in life through Jesus Christ. Because they are ignorant of their position in Christ or they’ve never used the authority they really possess, these believers are constantly ravaged by the wiles of Satan and are in a state of continual failure and defeat.

But the triumphant Church is the biblical perspective of the Body of Christ seated with Christ in heavenly places far above all powers and principalities (Eph. 1:3; 2:6). The triumphant Church scripturally portrays a Body of believers who not only know but exercise their authority in Christ and therefore reign victoriously in life

Anointing oil, mentioned 20 times in Scripture, was used in the Old Testament for pouring on the head of the high priest and his descendants and sprinkling the tabernacle and its furnishings to mark them as holy and set apart to the Lord.

Ephesians 5:18 KJV And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

The infilling of the Holy Spirit is the greatest experience that a new creation in Christ should constantly yearn habitually.

If then we need to constantly be filled with the Spirit, it means there are times we as believers can go about life “less filled” with the Holy Spirit.

The infilling experience could be likened to you charging your phone. As long as the phone is fully charged, then it is able to operate at maximum capability.

We are meant to do exploits for God. But it must always begin and be sustained my you and I

being intimate with the LORD.

It is the people who know their God that shall be strong and do exploits.

God is calling us back to the place of intimacy.

How deep are you willing to go with God? Ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep or

over your head? There are several references in the Bible about rivers and their

spiritual significance in both the Old and New Testament. In this case the

reference signifies the flow of God’s Spirit taking us deeper and deeper until He

has full control of our lives.

Water is generally a type of the Spirit of God in the Bible, whether it in reference

to the well of living water in John 4 or rivers of living water in John 7. In Ezekiel’s

vision we see a river flowing out of the Temple of God, which Jesus addressed in

the Gospel of John as rivers of living water that would flow out of us. "...so

everything will live where the river goes.” Ezekiel 47:9 ESV.

54 “Sing, barren woman,
    you who never bore a child;
burst into song, shout for joy,
    you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
    than of her who has a husband,”
says the Lord.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,
    stretch your tent curtains wide,
    do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
    strengthen your stakes.
3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
    your descendants will dispossess nations
    and settle in their desolate cities.

Ask Not What Your Church Can Do for You, but What You Can Do for Your Church

Do you remember a statement similar to this one made by President John F. Kennedy? In his inaugural address on January 20, 1961, he said, “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”

I remember learning that famous quote in school. I think more people would be saved and ministered to if Christians had that same thinking in the Church today.

Many times, we have a tendency to look for ways to be blessed rather than looking for ways to be a blessing. Of course, you know as well as I do that the best way to have joy unspeakable in our lives is to be a giver. Real joy is in putting others first instead of ourselves.

Acts 20:35 NKJV "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

If you really want to be blessed and get the most out of your church, start looking for ways you can serve. Just imagine what your church would be like if everyone’s goal was to be your pastor’s biggest blessing. It’s going to take all of us working together and each one of us doing our part in these last days to usher in the great harvest of souls.

There are many transitions happening in the Spirit in this season and major shifts especially this June and July. Spend extra time in prayer. This will really help you understand the times and position or align yourself for what the LORD is doing. IF YOU ARE REALLY SENSITIVE in the Spirit you will realize that we are in a season of shaking, sifting and shifting and you and I cannot afford to go through life without becoming more spiritual than ever before. 

We are getting into seasons of transitions that will affect relationships, associations, mindsets and every other thing that we hold dear for it is meant to work for our good. A time of “much” testing to see whether we are really made of what we claim of.

I believe we are getting into the epitome of all the prophetic words that have been spoken over our lives and this church and we must therefore seek the LORD in much prayers so that we can be in sync with His heart beat.

This will call for more separation and alone times with the LORD and only those who will purse him with everything they have will walk the path of victory, success and order

God hates slander Proverbs 6:16, 19. It is evil. That’s why Paul lists it as a behavior of those who hate God Romans 1:30 and why James calls it demonic behavior James 3:15–16.

Slander occurs whenever someone says something untrue about someone else that results, intentionally or unintentionally, in damaging that someone else’s reputation. And when it occurs, it becomes a divisive, discouraging, and confusing weight that often affects numerous people — sometimes many, many people.
Proverbs 18:8. TPT The words of a gossip merely reveal the wounds of his own soul, and his slander penetrates into the innermost being.

It is interesting to note that the words of a gossiper actually reveal wounds in their souls. SELAH!

Because of its poisonous power, it is one of the adversary’s chief strategies to divide relationships and deter and derail the mission of the church. We must be on our guard against this closely clinging sin and frequently lay it aside in Hebrews 12:1.

The fruit of slander is that it damages the perception of another individual in the mind of one or more people.

Sometimes slander is obvious and at other times it flies beneath the surface and is not easily detected.

Sometimes the heart of one person is not pure and due to jealousy, one friend slanders another person to keep their close friends from becoming close to the person being slandered.

Sometimes saying something untrue and damaging about someone is bold and blunt. But often slander is insidiously subtle, especially since we have heard slander all our lives in almost every context and grown accustomed to it.

We are creatures of habit. If we don’t find ways to remind ourselves why we do what we do, we’re prone to just go through the motions, if not adopt some new underlying motivation altogether. Which can be especially dangerous in worship.

It is possible for a church to run flat on worship and be caught in the motion and end up forgetting our reason for worship is Christ.

Let me ask you, what has been your “object” of worship? Again, we are creatures of habit, you and I could slowly be replacing Jesus with a phone, a spouse, work and career, friends, assignment, prayers, giving, ambitions and appetites

Listen to the words of Moses in

Deuteronomy 11:16 KJV Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

Isaiah 54:17 NKJV No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD.

The Bible clearly shows that there are tongues that can be against you in judgment. See the more ignorant we are about things that SCRIPTURES have clearly said, the more the devil gets a foothold into our lives.

Don’t be ignorant or oblivious that negative tongues from the pit of hell are occasionally being projected to you on a daily basis.

THE DEFAULT STATE OF ANYTHING IS CHAOS. IF YOU DON’T TEND TO YOUR LIFE, WEED WILL GROW BY DEFAULT.

The Bible says every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.

LET ME ASK YOU, HAVE YOU BEEN CONDEMNING THEM IN THE PLACE OF PRAYER?

The Message Bible puts it this way, 11 After all, we don't want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief — we're not oblivious to his sly ways!

Trust me, saints, the life that you and I are living is super spiritual. We must never trivialize the fact that everything about us and this walk is very spiritual. The enemy would want us to be so natural-minded that he does things subtly and without us using spiritual knowledge we begin thinking just like the world and reacting just as the world does.

I am perturbed as to how casual we are in our spiritual life and if we are not careful, our casual nature can make us casualties. It is time we began taking our journey seriously and being more alert to our spiritual lives than ever before.

Apostle Paul went on to say, “Now there are diversities of gifts” The word “diversities” simply means “different.” In other words, Paul was saying, “There are different gifts but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And differences of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.”

There are two theories on this particular Scripture, and I can see merit in both of them.

One line of thought says these gifts are administered to different ones in different ways. They say diversities of operations means they operate in different ways and not always the same way in different individuals.

On the other hand, there are those who believe that there are diversities of gifts, so there are different gifts, there are differences of administrations, and there are diversities of operations.

They say Paul is talking here about three different things, not just gifts: He is talking about gifts, administrations, and operations. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal”

Notice he is calling these gifts “manifestations” — the manifestation of them is given to profit withal.

They are given to profit the whole Church, not an individual. Then Paul went on to say, “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge...," and he goes on to list nine manifestations.

What is Word of Wisdom?

DEFINITION: The gift of the Word of Wisdom is an instantaneous and divine revelation of the sovereign mind, will, purpose, plan, or counsel of God concerning things of the past, present, or future.

It is not the "gift of wisdom" but the "word of wisdom"

A word is a fragment of a sentence. A word of wisdom therefore is a fragment of the total arena of God's plan and wisdom. A word of wisdom comes to minister to the NEED. It is much the same as a lawyer. He doesn't give you all of his knowledge, just that which is necessary for the case at hand.

The gift of word of wisdom is a part or a piece of the whole counsel of God allowing us into his sovereign mind, will, purpose, plan, or counsel concerning things past present and future.

The importance of the GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT to the essential functioning of the Church of Jesus Christ cannot be over-estimated. Without them, the Church lacks the spiritual equipment outlined in the first Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 12, which is so necessary for an aggressive conflict with the powers of darkness; she is also deprived of that edifying enrichment derived from the manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s presence and power in her midst.

The Bible is full of God’s supernatural dealings with His people. The experience of regeneration, whereby we become new creatures in Christ, is supernatural.

Christians also readily admit that the devil is supernatural in his person, power, and activities; yet the same Christians are inclined to shrink from the thought of a supernatural baptism in the Holy Spirit, with supernatural signs attending it, and the ensuing supernatural gifts.

Psalm 127:1 TPT A song of the stairway, by King Solomon. If God’s grace doesn’t help the builders, they will labor in vain to build a house. If God’s mercy doesn’t protect the city, all the sentries will circle it in vain. 2  It really is senseless to work so hard from early morning till late at night, toiling to make a living for fear of not having enough. God can provide for his lovers even while they sleep! 

Proverbs 19:16 TPT Honor God’s holy instructions and life will go well for you. But if you despise his ways and choose your own plans, you will die. 

What is a plan?

A detailed proposal of doing or achieving something. An intention or decision about what one is going to do.

God in his wisdom gave us the ability to plan but the best laid plans that will always work MUST always involve him in every step.

We said last Sunday we don’t pray to be led rather we pray to know God’s leading and his directions in a simple way. 

God’s leading is meant for all of us. Remember what Jesus said in John 14 that he shall not leave us as orphans. This means we can hear Him and be led by God every single day every single hour. 

NEVER FORGET THIS, THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS YOUR GREATEST ADVANTAGE, AND IGNORING HIS LEADING IS YOUR GREATEST DISADVANTAGE.

TODAY WE SHALL LOOK AT HOW GOD LEADS.

Jeremiah 10:23 KJV O LORD, I know that the way of man [is] not in himself: [it is] not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Many believers struggle to really flow with God’s leading and know whether they are hearing God correctly or not.

Hearing the voice of God and getting his leading is a preserve for all his children. Notice in verse 18 he promises us that he will not leave us as orphans, you are not alone even though we do not see him physically, know that you are not an orphan. In other words, he is telling us we have a guardian that he left us with. He came back as the HOLY SPIRIT.

Notice that the His Spirit abides forever. This is a promise given to all of us not considering that we have to earn him but appreciating the fact that the Holy Spirit is a gift from God.

He abides with us forever!

Matthew 13:24. TPT Then Jesus taught them another parable: “Heaven’s kingdom realm can be compared to a farmer who planted good seed in his field. 25. But at night, when everyone was asleep, an enemy came and planted poisonous weeds among the wheat and ran away. 26. When the wheat sprouted and bore grain, the weeds also appeared. 27. So the farmer’s hired hands came to him and said, ‘Sir, wasn’t that good seed that you sowed in the field? Where did all these weeds come from?’ 28. “He answered, ‘This has to be the work of an enemy!’ “They replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather up all the weeds?’ 29. “ ‘No,’ he said. ‘If you pull out the weeds you might uproot the wheat at the same time.30. You must allow them both to grow together until the time of harvest. At that time, I’ll tell my harvesters to make sure they gather the weeds first and tie them all in bundles to be burned. Then they will harvest the wheat and put it into my barn.’ ”

This scripture can be viewed from two different perspectives. First, it talks about the enemies’ activities in the life of men, when they are asleep. Secondly, it gives an illustration of what will happen at the End Time, which is the dispensation we are in now. True believers and unbelievers shall be seen growing and living together in one place, and we shall not be able to differentiate them. But at the last day, there shall be a separation. Our focus for this study, however, shall be on the first perspective.

Sleep here in the physical state, is to lay down to rest and oftentimes, you get some dreams. Sleep can also be viewed as a spiritual state of slumberness. The second thing to consider is the enemy and there are certain things to note about his mode of operations. Micah 7:6 tells us that a man’s enemies are members of his own household. This means that oftentimes, the person who sows the evil seed is well known to the victim. 
Micah 7:5 NKJV Do not trust in a friend; Do not put your confidence in a companion; Guard the doors of your mouth From her who lies in your bosom. 6 For son dishonors father,Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own household. 7 Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.

Similarly today, some of the problems we experience are introduced by persons well known to us. The second thing about the enemy’s mode of operation is that he comes in to do evil, when the victim is unaware. Many people, today, wake up and discover a problem because the enemy sneaked in and planted a seed.

Giving is the LIFELINE of the Kingdom of God. The kingdom starts from the place of giving and is sustained by this very principle. As basic as this PRINCIPLE is if the LIGHT of the word concerning giving is not shed well, then the principle in itself seizes to work and believers are left at a great disadvantage.

Bob Biehl, in his book “Masterplanning,” tells about a conversation he had with a man who trains animals for Hollywood movies. He asked him, “How is it that you can stake down a ten-ton elephant with the same size stake that you use to restrain this baby elephant?”

“It’s easy,” said the trainer. “When they are babies, we stake them down. They try to tug away from the stake countless times before they realize that they can’t get away. At that point, the elephant memory takes over and for the remainder of their lives they remain convinced that they can’t get away from the stake.”

Like elephants, humans have long memories. Often when we are young, some unthinking, insensitive person makes a negative statement about us or me, and we happen to hear it. Maybe they say about us, “He is not as smart as the other children” “She always makes a mess of things,” or “Her personality or disposition is terrible,” or “He has very little leadership ability.” Often at those moments, a mental stake is driven into our subconscious. Years later when we are adults, those stakes are still holding us fast.

Most of our limitations are self-imposed. Often during our childhood years, we pick up unrealistic fears and unreasonable insecurities. By the time we reach adulthood, we may have little self-confidence and lots of fears.

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

1 Corinthians 12:1 NKJV Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

The Apostle Paul tells us in the beginning text that he does not want to be IGNORANTconcerning spiritual gifts. The ROOT word translated here means AGNOEOwhich means lack of information or intelligence, a lack of understanding or knowing.

In other words, God wants you to walk in the light of knowing, understanding and working these various gifts given to the church.

Ignorance is the breeding ground for the devil’s theatrics. It is in that place that he thrives against us.

God through redemption has called us from darkness into light.

Ephesians 5:8 KJV For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

There is a walk that God has called un into and He expects us to do so by the Holy Spirit.

Notice that the Bible says in Him was life and this life was the LIGHT of men. In other words, the LIFE of Christ is the LIGHT of men.

There is a different kind of life that we have been called into. We must be conscious of this TYPE of life, embrace it and live it no matter what the physical eyes see.

Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

In other words, there is a life given to us, that is so different from the biological life that we have.

James says in James 1:18 KJV Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

God has established prayer as the means by which we receive his supernatural help. And without supernatural help, we cannot live a life worthy of the gospel. Everything that distinguishes Christians from the world in a Christ-exalting way is a work of God’s supernatural grace. And God has ordained that this grace flows to us through prayer. That’s why prayer must be central, not peripheral, in our lives and families and ministries.

PRAYERS IS NOT ONLY TALKING TO GOD, BUT TALKING LIKE GOD.

The BIBLE talks about being strong in the LORD. This is not a suggestion, a feeling or a thought. It is a commandment from the LORD himself.

What does it mean to be strong?

To be strong means having the power to move heavy weights or perform other physically demanding tasks:

It seems as it were that before GOD DOES ANYTHING HE FIRST GETS MEN PRAYING.From the Scriptures in the OLD into NEW TESTAMENT, God is seen to first get MEN PRAYING BEFORE HE CAN USE THEM or BEFORE WE CAN SEE THE AGENDA, HE USES THEM TO ACHIEVE.

Prayer burdens means God wants to use me to pray and birth something. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A STIRRING, A LEADING, A HUNGER TO PRAY it may very well mean “God is not using you”

We shall revisit this point later but understand this again, “GOD DOES NOTHING UNTIL HE GETS MEN PRAYING FIRST”

That said, this mandate and the way to do it can only be done by the vehicle called prayer.

Everything the LORD will demand of you will first demand from us principle of prayer. Before you can embark on “doing it for the LORD” you must get first on your knees and get the blue print and template of how to go about it and what you need to do.

After the mess caused Adam all the way to cain, we are introduced into a simple yet profound scripture.

Genesis 4:26 KJV And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

This basically means saints, inbuilt in our own DNA is the ability to know we are limited and that we need divine help. Contrary to what many people think, prayer is not for the weak, the have nots, the lost, rather prayer is for the one who recognizes they are limited and they have limitations and they need supernatural intervention.

I hope by now you know that you shall not get results in the miraculous because you know who you are in Christ, this is the entry point, the passport to the supernatural and the miraculous, you only get results by diving into the den of prayer.

In this journey, you are either led by the Spirit or by the flesh. You and i are primarily the creatures of influence.

We see Solomon began in the Spirit but was now perfecting things in the flesh. Such is the power of influence.

1 Kings 15:1 NKJV In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam became king over Judah. 2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maachah the granddaughter of Abishalom. 3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David

NOTICE something, just because you have a bad example does not mean you should follow it.

We are products of influence and that is why you should check to see who around you are influencing you.

We serve a King who is invincible from the naked eyes, who lives in our hearts. Who knows us very well than we know ourselves, There is nothing hidden in his sight, He know all, he sees all.

Hebrews 4:13 NKJV And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. On this episode we look at the flesh or the spirit.

The anointing is the enablement that God adds his super to your natural and you begin to operate in supernatural dimensions far above your ability. It is the power that makes you do things you cannot do on your own. It enables you to lift more load and do exploits though you are frail. The anointing blinds you to the ‘heaviness’ of the assignment ahead of you because it equips you and makes you ready. The anointing gifts you for your assignment.

The anointing of God is His enablement upon you to serve his agenda and not yours!

Remember that God can take substandard weak frail, imperfect vessels and perform supernatural feats. That way you may know that it was his enablement that was at work at you and that you could not make it on your own. The anointing cannot be bought, imitated, photocopied. You either have it or you don’t.

2023 is the YEAR of the Spirit.

Romans 8:14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Get ready to befriend the Holy Spirit more than ever before, you cannot try do things on your own.

You cannot make steps on your own neither can you move ahead or lag behind the Spirit of the LORD.

It is the year of much prayer especially in the Spirit. It is the year of much discernment and getting even closer to God.

The LORD will have us rely so much on his Spirit

What is commitment?

The state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity.

Some things to note about commitment.

"If you show commitment only when you're less busy, you're not really committed."

“Commitment means either you do or don’t, there is no middle ground”

“Unless commitment is made there are only promises and hopes but no plan”.

“Commitment is an act not a word”

“Commitment is a VERB not a confession”

The reason why most of us are not committed to any cause is because we have never gotten ourselves to the level of being CONVICTED in our hearts over any cause or activity.

Your convictions are built on convenience.

Backsliding, also known as falling away or described as "committing apostasy", is a term used within evangelical Christianity to describe a process by which an individual who has converted to Christianity reverts to pre-conversion habits and/or lapses or falls into sin, when a person turns from God to pursue their own desire.

An old preacher used to say that if you are not moving toward Jesus, you are moving away from Him—there is no middle ground, no drifting. "Backsliding," in Christianity, is moving away from Jesus after being near Him.

My best description of backsliding is Backsliding simply means to lose God and not to miss Him.

Know this: backsliding doesn't mean a person loses their salvation. The Bible makes it clear that once we are saved, that is, we've put our faith in Jesus as the Son of God who came to die on the cross in our place and rise from the dead, we are saved for good

Familiarity means to know someone or something very well and in such a way as to cause you to lose your admiration, respect and sense of awe and reverence.

Familiarity is the source of many problems in our lives. The problem however is that familiarity is not too familiar to many people such that they do not know its effects on their lives.

“Honor is not you giving someone special treatment, it is you giving someone the correct treatment”

Matthew 5:43-47 MSG "You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that. 48 "In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you."

In this Episode we look at what it really means to grieve the Holy Spirit by contextually looking at Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
