Recently, during the pandemic she became a  Dj mentor for a  teen workshop where she teaches the history of dance music, shares with them music from the founders and teaches them beat matching by ear.

Colin’s production style invokes a go with the flow Pisces retro tech house Y2K vibe. His 20+ years as a professional classical musician gave him a great ear to deliver a refined set, and his sound design takes some unexpected darker turns within an otherwise laid back presentation. 

Colin has recently relocated to the Midwest after living abroad where he worked as Principal Bass in Orquestra Filarmonica de Minas Gerais, Brazil & Section Bass in Orquesta Filarmonica de Jalisco, Mexico.

Introducing Aquarius Emma Vescio, a curator from Pittsburgh who shares their special mix of Aquarian moods and wants you to move quickly, slowly or not at all. They want to share with you what makes them feel excited.

Emma hosts a music show called fantasieson n10.as every 4th Thursday. Since this Aquarius is a curator it’s no surprise that each episode is inspired by a featured visual artist and an image that encompasses their fantasies. Once they have absorbed the feelings from the image of the fantasies they then create the mix.

This month’s episode of Libra Radio we collaborated with Sagittarius Teep for his weekly radio show sewersounds on WMBR Cambridge, MA 88.1FM.  Sewersounds is the undercurrent of electronix presented via a live-mix moodmat. We spoke with Teep about his process and concept behind sewersounds and what it’s like to be a Sagittarius on the radio.

LR- How does being a Sagittarius relate to your relationship with music and curating music as a DJ? 

TEEP- Sagittarius is a collector of experiences and being ruled by Jupiter, is right at home on a quest for abundance. Week to week I crave new sounds and styles, admittedly to excess. Curation then is a process of finding optimism for songs that I think others will similarly enjoy. True to fire sign form, I want to share my enthusiasm for the music that makes it into my sets. I feel lucky when my instincts are affirmed, but in the end I don’t need that, as Sagittarius are content with being independent. After all, I’m just sharing what I already love.

LR- What was your inspiration for this set / moodmat?

TEEP- I have a vivid memory of an after party, in a basement somewhere in Brighton in the 90s, where the headliner from the night (Onionz) turned up and turned it out. The party was raw, sweaty, and totally jumping. The music was funky but deep and far out. So that’s the mood I tried to rep here. 100% underground after hours house party. If you were in that basement, you were dancing.

LR- Tell us more about sewersounds. How it all started and your moodmats.

TEEP- First, I need to give props to Unit Moebius who’s track on Interr-Ference HM1201 called “sewer” is certainly a part of the inspiration for sewersounds. The concept is just this, if commercial radio exists above the streets, the turf I’m interested in operating in, is under the manhole cover that is our logo. Or as my WMBR program guide show description  reads "The undercurrent of electronix presented via a live-mix moodmat.” The moodmat concept was from the mind of Dan Sicko, who sought to unchain collections of music from genres that he felt would trap radio into a format. No question he was inspired by the Electrifying Mojo in this idea, to be guided to bring instead, a moodmat. The show in its current 10-11pm Thursday spot, has been on WMBR since May 2019, but earlier sewersounds shows ran from 2011 to 2013 10-Midnight on Thursdays.

Naturally, Jarvi and Soraya made use of the chaos of quarantine and created a place to share and listen to music while keeping connected, (think bubbly visuals, a place to connect with other creatives in the chat, to be yourself and share your music and mixes).

Taurus has arrived with a special mix from the other half of Libra Radio, Alden F. Born opposite to Libra on the Zodiac, this Taurus brings his audio engineering and mastering background like a true Bull. His productions are influenced by 90s industrial and rave music thru techno. There is an obvious sci-fi quality to his sound design that he pulls into the physical realm. He makes use of this 130 BPM energy by mixing his own productions (most of which you can find on the Boston techno label Tight Groove) with tracks from like minded artists . Nothing short of taking risks, this Taurus creates and manifests a stable and consistent rhythm.

Surprise! Amadeezy aka Bass Boss has arrived just in time to get your mind off this pandemic and help you flatten the curve. For the second half of Aries stay home, stay safe and tune in to this ghetto house and electro bass heavy mix featuring his Remix- Bend Ya Back.
