Tue, 19 Jan 2021 - 35min - 75 - HC075 - Values enabled culture - with Mike Jennings
A great human conversation with the chairman of Jennings Group, Mike Jennings, author of Valuable, and in this podcast we discuss lots of food for thought... 🌟 Feeling fear to explore new ideas 🌟 Having the right people on board 🌟 It’s ok to make mistakes 🌟 Following your intuition 🌟 Attitude over aptitude 🌟 Profit is an outcome of people Mike talks about how you don’t have to have a rigid plan to have a successful and sustainable business. Trust the journey, have the belief, create freedom and be brave and you will continue to learn and evolve. Know your purpose and give yourself the freedom to connect with the right people and in turn you will see that profit becomes the outcome and not the driver. Fascinating to look at business in this way, especially as originally Mike trained as an accountant! I think Mike has it right and the proof is right there as he has built a very local, successful and sustainable business. Thu, 10 Sep 2020 - 41min - 67 - HC067 - Dare to dream - with Kevin Gaskell
It's not often you get to have a conversation with a world record holder, but there is a whole lot more to Kevin Gaskell that makes him a truly inspirational person. As CEO of successful world class brands - Porsche, Lamborghini, and BMW , and as a serial entrepreneur who has built international companies from ‘a good idea’, Kevin has created over £3 billion in shareholder value – and yet has still found time to climb the world’s highest mountains, walk to both North and South Poles, compete in international sport and play in a rock band - and did I mention his world record from rowing across the Atlantic. On this epic achievement he said, “We have crossed the ocean and we all came out of it still friends. That was our main aim. I am very privileged to have been part of that. I feel incredibly fortunate”. Kevin and his Atlantic rowing team are now World Record holders for the fastest row across the Atlantic in a 5 man boat. The epic journey, which took 35 days 19 hours and 50 minutes, raised more than £100k for the Plastic Soup Foundation, a charity that fights against the build up of plastics in oceans. In this podcast we get to know more about the experiences he has had and he leaves us in no doubt that if we 'Dare to dream' we can do anything. As he says ordinary people can do extraordinary things. Wed, 01 Jan 2020 - 16min - 42 - HC042 S2 - Making books beautiful - with Catherine Williams
My human conversation in this episode is with the lovely Catherine Williams, who makes books beautiful for the reader. We chat about how Catherine started her career which is far removed from what she does today. We also talk about the journey of a book from when it's written by the author to when it's read by the reader. Quite a lot happens and Catherine's expertise helps to make a book much more readable and beautiful. As she rightly says, a reader should not notice how a book is laid out, they should only consume every bit of the content and enjoy it. Listen in to see what Catherine does to make books beautiful and where in the process she comes in. Loved our chat and hope you see that there is so much more to producing a book than we perhaps realise and Catherine plays a wonderful part in that. Many sales coaches and trainers say what they think we all want to hear but both Dale and I have walked everything that we talk about. Such a great conversation with the inspiring Brian Schulman from 'Voice Your Vibe'. Brian has lived with Tourettes and the difficulties it has thrown at him and yet he is such a happy and inspirational human being. This conversation is truly inspiring following Brian's story, how his mother was such an amazing woman when he was growing up and how he has become the man he is today - now giving back and sharing his inspiration with everyone he meets. I called this 'getting comfortable being uncomfortable' because Brian uses this phrase a couple of times and it just about sums up his journey. Please connect with this wonderful man and like and share our conversation so that everyone we connect with can benefit from his wisdom. https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianschulman/ Send a personalised invite on LinkedIn and you will connect with him.

We didn't plan a subject for this podcast, it was purely about meeting a new friend and during our chat I realised a huge thing. I had not connected with Doug because of Microsoft, as awesome as that is, I had actually connected with his personal brand. So I named this podcast after just that - the discovery of personal brand - what does it really mean. Tue, 24 Jul 2018 - 21min - 10 - HC010 - The magical journey of Trunki with Rob Law MBE
Absolutely honoured to have Rob Law MBE on my podcast this week, the inventor of Trunki. I knew Rob in the very early days of the Trunki journey when I sold them in my company, Truly Madly Baby. Trixie and Terrance went down a storm and were best sellers. I shouted at the TV when Rob was thrown out of the Dragons' Den and I now smile and celebrate that today he runs an extremely successful and inspirational business. I loved our catch up where you get a taste of the magical Trunki journey, but don't underestimate how determined and driven Rob has been and the adversity he has overcome to get to where he is today. A real inspiration and delighted to have had him on my podcast. Follow Trunki here... https://www.instagram.com/trunkitravels/ https://twitter.com/trunki https://www.facebook.com/TrunkiTravels/

Following a chain of events yesterday where I had to deal with four different call centres, I thought I would tell you about my story and observations. Have we now lost the art of human conversation, or is it totally down to the individual you are speaking to?
