Brayden Both is one of my roommates at BYU. I have really appreciated the many conversations I have had with him and loved hearing about his mission in so much depth during this conversation. Max Bengtzen is a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ who served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Houston, Texas and Sydney, Australia. He was inactive and even resistant to the church for a time, but after powerful spiritual experiences he turned things around and has now found a life full of joy in serving the Lord Jesus Christ. TURNING TO THE SAVIOR BRINGS SO MUCH JOY!!! This episode is a deep dive into what Alex Russell and I learned throughout our missions and the conversion experiences we went through together, line upon line. Jose Cardenes Troya is originally from Ecuador but moved to Utah several years ago. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chicago, which is where I met him. He has an incredible story of how turning to the Lord and patiently pressing forward has shaped who he is today and given him an understanding of how he can deal with challenges through the rest of his life. Zander Thompson is a good friend of mine who recently returned from serving in the Iowa Iowa City Mission. This is the second time he has been on the podcast (the first being on February 26, 2021). This episode is all about his mission experiences and how he drew closer to the Savior on his mission.

Cherstyn & Matt Stockwell have been married for 17 years. They love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have shown tremendous faith throughout their lives, including very difficult years of dating that you will hear about in this episode. This is my third interview for my Eternal Family project. I have learned a lot from this experience.

I was companions with Elder Alex Russell three separate times, for a total of 7 months in Rockford, Illinois. I loved serving with him so so much. We became companions at a time where I was really struggling and he helped me find so much joy in missionary work. This was recorded on June 20, 2022 on our last day of being companions the first time. At this point he had been a missionary for about 8 months. Enjoy!

Joseph Summers was one of my companions in Rockford, Illinois in early 2022. This episode was recorded on February 28, 2022. When I think of Elder Summers, I think of exact obedience and a willingness to let the Lord Prevail. I learned a lot from him. Enjoy!

Cade Martinez is a faith-filled Disciple of Jesus Christ who served most of his mission in Chicago and part of it in Russia. He inspired me with examples of discipleship from before, during and after his mission. I am so grateful for his testimony. Enjoy!

I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve with Jeffrey Huband in Chicago. He was a wonderful missionary who exercised great faith to serve the Lord. This episode was recorded on January 3, 2022. At the time, he was Elder Huband and had only been on his mission for 3-4 months. He has since returned home after honorably serving the Lord. This episode is primarily focused on the missionary experiences, struggles to keep going, and learnings from the first few months of his mission. I loved this episode and I hope you learn a lot from Elder Huband like I did.

Kirstin and JD are awesome! They have been married for a little over a year and are truly enjoying the blessings promised by the Lord in the Everlasting Covenant of Marriage. We discussed dating at BYU in detail, what they love about marriage, and their excitement to raise their children as disciples of Jesus Christ. I hope you enjoy!

Chase Turcsanski recently returned from the Illinois Chicago Mission where he served as a full-time missionary for 2 years. He had many precious experiences during his mission that I had the privilege of discussing with him. Chase is very desirous to go into the film industry as well, so we had a discussion about how movies can bless us and some other thoughts. We discussed Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf's General Conference address from October of 2019, "Your Great Adventure" which I encourage you to listen to. You are in for a treat. I hope you like to laugh and that the funny stuff we say makes sense to you. It is also a very spirit-filled discussion that I know you will benefit from hearing.

This episode is with my new friend William Kruger. I got to know William while serving as an ordinance worker in the temple. He is about to be set apart as a full time representative of Jesus Christ in the Santa Maria, Brazil mission. We had many great discussions about decisions he has made to grow closer to the Lord as well as the Book of Enos in the Book of Mormon. In this episode my Bishop, Ed Rowe, interviews me. It was a great experience. I hope that my testimony can strengthen yours. Please listen all the way through. This is most likely the last episode for 2 years so I just really hope the you know how much I love you all and how much I desire for you to come unto the Savior and develop a testimony for yourself. The Gospel is true. I believe it with my whole heart. Do the little things to gain a testimony. It will one day seem like no sacrifice at all.

Welcome my final podcast episode before starting the MTC bright and early tomorrow. This is with my beautiful, caring, compassionate, and overall incredibly Christ-like mother, Carly Thompson. She (and Heavenly Father of course) is the reason this Podcast exists. I am so grateful for her willingness to listen to me and tell me that she doesn’t know a lot of things so that we could grow together. She always listened, and it impacted me so much that I became desirous to help other people have the opportunity to be listened to as well. Not to mention the fact that she has done and gone through more than I could ever fully comprehend in striving to give me and my sisters the best life she could. I love her so much. In the conversation we talked about so many spiritual things, as well as health things. Me and her are big believers that everything is best when brought into some sort of a spiritual lense. The last of my 3 sisters for me to interview was Caprice Thompson. She goes by Reese, and she is 13 (almost 14) years old. She very well may possibly know more about the Restoration and The Book Of Mormon than I do, and I was honestly in awe at how she displayed her knowledge in this conversation. She said thing after thing that I had not previously realized and I am so grateful for the chance to have this conversation with her. For the first 30 minutes or so we deeply dissected the meaning behind movies such as The Hobbit, Moana, Hercules, The Lord Of The Rings, and even THE LEGO MOVIE. It was awesome! I loved it. So many more things are spiritual than we realize. After talking about movies we had a long discussion about the gospel and it was super powerful. The spirit was with her. I hope that you will allow the spirit to teach you with everything we talk about. Love you all! Enjoy!

Twin #2. Baby B. Lola Thompson. I hope you enjoy this quick little episode :) I’ve loved having Lola as my sister for most of my life and I think she is such a happy person and great to be around. She is great at drawing and making people laugh and she is super kind. I can’t wait to see who she eventually becomes through Heavenly Father’s plan. Enjoy!

At last, I finally got to interview one of my sisters. This is Lily Thompson and she is the older (by 2 minutes) of my 10-year old twin sisters. She is amazing. I love her thirst for knowledge and trying to understand things for herself. She is also great at editing videos and making funny and cool things. I’m so grateful for her. I hope you enjoy!

This episode is with one of my great friends William Song. This is not your typical podcast episode so buckle down and enjoy the ride. After we talk for a little bit about the value of conversation he basically gives me a therapy session and asks me tons of questions to figure out lots of things such as what is behind a lot of my motivations in life. I’ve been friends with William for probably 10 years and it has been great to hang out with him, talk, and go through years of school with him. He is super smart and has a great talent for trying to help people get to the root of their emotions and struggles. I think he would be a great therapist if he chooses to pursue that. Remington is such a great guy. Not because he plays the organ or because he’s 6’4” or because he was Student Body President, but because he loves helping others and is amazing at it. I first got to know him because he was trying to be a friend to everyone during junior year and I have had so many chances to talk and joke with him throughout since then. He really shows the light of Christ and will be such a good missionary. He is going to be serving in the Rome Italy Mission and will be starting the home MTC on June 23rd. In this episode we talked a little bit about his relationship with music, about his High School experience and what he had to do to get out of his comfort zone in order to find joy and serve others, serving missions, gospel principles, and more. I really hope you enjoy and I know your testimony of many things can be strengthened if you listen with an open heart. For a while I didn’t think it would go this far, but thanks to so many great people I have pushed on and been able to discover incredible testimonies within people of many backgrounds and ages. Sebastián has been an absolutely incredible friend of mine over the past 3 and a half years that I’ve known him. He is funny, understanding, super nice, and has a firm testimony of the gospel. It has been an honor to know him. I say this in sort of a parting tone just cause I know that soon I won’t see him for over 2 years. I love him and can’t wait to do a post-mission podcast 😁 He is not a man of many words but I’ve learned that he really does know the Gospel is true and he shows it in the way he talks about the small things he has learned. It’s hard to fully explain how I know he knows it but I hope the spirit can show his true love and passion behind his words. In this conversation we talked about his life in Colombia before he moved to the U.S., our amazing group of friends, missionary work, some great scriptures, what we learned from High School, and then we just talked about fun memories for a while. Honestly those stories probably aren’t as interesting if you aren’t one of the people who was involved in them so if you want to skip it that occurred from about 1:15:00 minutes to 1:42:00 (I think). Don’t just put away the podcast when we start telling stories, you’ve gotta listen to Sebastián’s testimony in the last 5 minutes. Anyway, this was an awesome, spiritual and fun experience. Mary is a friend of mine who I have been very blessed to receive the opportunity to get to know this year. She is such a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and I am so grateful for her example and willingness to be so open. She is actually of the Catholic faith, but I think this podcast episode can be a sincere reminder of how many genuine followers of Christ there are in so many faiths. I loved our conversation. The Savior was definitely the center of our talk which I know is the absolute best way to have a good conversation that helps bring peace and faith. It was great to learn more about the Catholic faith and also to tell her more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Anyway, there is a lot we talk about as far as our own experiences with the spirit and with growing closer to Christ. For the first 15-20 we talked a lot about the play “Chess” that we had the privilege of playing music for so that was just fun haha. But the majority is talk about Jesus so I think you will learn a lot. Enjoy!!!

Brandon Wright is a childhood friend of mine who begins his mission in about a month on July 12th. He will be serving in the Japan Fukuoka mission and will be preaching the Gospel in Japanese. He has really done what is has taken over the past year to strengthen his testimony and prepare to serve a mission. He will be a great missionary and he truly has purpose behind his desire to serve. In the conversation we talked a little about sports but then mostly dove into the Gospel, missions, friends, being yourself, and more. I hope you enjoy!

Lincoln Lyons is a very good friend of mine who I have grown very close to over the past 5 months. We both graduated 2 weeks ago and he is being set apart as a missionary and starting the online MTC next week. He will be serving in the Sweden Stockholm mission speaking Swedish. Lincoln’s testimony is so powerful, and he continually has strengthened my testimony of God’s love for all of us and the unity that we can have with our fellow Brothers and Sisters all around this Earth. We talked about music, friends, the importance of following your parents’ guidance and rules (as well as the rules set by our Heavenly Parents), missions, God’s love, and more. Please listen with an open heart and allow the spirit to teach you what you need to learn. I felt very strongly that the principles we spoke of are very important for everyone and that people can learn from what was said. I love you all, please enjoy!

This was recorded at a Young Men’s fireside of my ward on May 2, 2021. We held this fireside so that the graduating Young Men of our ward would have a chance to share their thoughts and testimonies to all of the younger boys. I honestly thought it was incredible and the spirit was so strong. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to grow up with these young men and I can’t wait to see what our futures have in store. Aiden Carlson is a new member of my Priest Quorum... and boy is his testimony strong. His desire to find truth has led him to fully embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ in which he has been raised. He reminds me a lot of me, but he is more brave and willing to stand up and stand out for the way he lives his faith. This is my 7th Priest Quorum Podcast, and it was amazing. I felt prompted to ask Aiden if he would be willing to do a podcast with me when we were talking a couple weeks ago. All I have to say is... FOLLOW PROMPTINGS. They only do you good. Anyways, we talked a lot about the Savior, stories and how they help us navigate life, fun theories of the afterlife (I promise this isn’t anything bad, it was honestly just getting us excited about the life to come), not judging others, and more. Cliff Doman is an advisor in my Priest Quorum who I have been in the same ward with for 12 years. This episode is the 6th of my Priest Quorum Interviews. Cliff’s son Dane Doman can be found in episode 12, and his brother Brandon Doman can be found in episode 22. Not a lot needs to be said in this description other than that Cliff truly loves the Savior. He testifies of him every chance he gets and this interview is no different. I call this episode “I Wish You Knew...” because this is something he says in a powerful message to our priest quorum towards the end of the podcast. I felt the spirit strongly listening to it, and I promise that if you will listen to this whole thing (my longest podcast yet) you will feel the spirit confirm truths if you have a true desire to find truth and act on it. We talked about his mission, his job, and countless gospel principles. These conversations are so worth it to me and I believe that the value of taking this amount of time to dig deep into a persons faith can’t be measured. It will impact you if you will let it. Jeewarshav Adhikari (he goes by Jeev) is a super good friend of mine who just turned 18 a week ago. He moved to the United States from Nepal about 2 and a half years ago, he’s pretty cool if I do say so myself. He is so funny and loves talking about Nepal, the gospel, and honestly anything 😂 I’ve been excited to get him on the podcast and he did not disappoint. We talked about the joy that comes through service and fulfilling our priesthood duties, fun stories of Nepal and the culture there, the importance of family, his father and his conversion and role in the church, his sisters conversion experience, and most importantly how Jeev is striving to gain a testimony so that he can serve the lord to the best of his ability. Zander is a good friend of mine who I have known for a long time but have grown closer to over the last couple years. He is not related to me in any way that we are aware of 😂. He is a super great guy to be around and always has funny things to say. He has participated in many sports, most lately of which has been wrestling. Thinking back on this conversation I just love all the little things that he says from wanting to serve a mission, being open-minded, learning to be happy, letting the spirit guide, not judging, and much more. Welcome to the first ever episode with a direct member of my family. Layne Thompson is my dad and he is an amazing human with an amazing testimony. Having this conversation with him was a huge testimony builder for me... I realized I need to truly appreciate his experiences and not play them off because I have already heard most of them. I learned so much and I love and am so grateful for his knowledge and all he has done for me and my family. Layne is currently a real estate agent and is the Young Men’s President of our Stake as well as a High Councilman of the Stake. Sydney Tittle has been an amazing friend to me and my family for many years now. She babysat me and my sisters over a decade ago for a few years and it was honestly a blast. I’ve seen her come and go from serving a mission and we have been connected ever since. I love Syd’s testimony and I honestly learned a lot from this interview that I desperately need to work on applying in my life. Brandon Braby is an amazing friend of mine who I have known throughout my High School experience. He is one of the kindest and most well-intentioned people I have ever met. He has a STRONG testimony that I believe you can learn from. I encourage you to really try and immerse yourself into the conversation... learn all you can, think about how you feel about what we are talking about, answer questions that are asked. I believe a lot of good can be done with these conversations. Brandon pauses and constructs great thoughts consistently throughout the conversation, I would encourage you take any moments of pausing as a chance to think. Mckay is the 5th guest from my Priest Quorum who I’ve had on the podcast. Him, Truman Porter, and me were recently called to serve in our Priest Quorum presidency, which is something we touch on in this episode. He has a strong testimony of simply having a desire to serve God, family, missionary work, the effort it takes to gain a testimony, and the impact he knows he can have on others lives as a son of God. Conner Cameron is a good friend of mine who I have stayed connected with through my whole High School experience. Brandon Doman is the 2nd Counselor in the Stake Presidency of my Stake. He has a powerful testimony of the restoration of the gospel and of our Savior Jesus Christ. He really believes that it is important to come to learn and apply the fact that this life isn’t about us personally, it is about others — that is where the true joy comes. President Doman was a quarterback at BYU and played for the San Francisco 49ers for 3 years following college. He has learned so much and I believe his testimony can strengthen yours. Ian Gotcher has been in my ward much longer than I have, and he has finally reached the amazing milestone of missionary. This is the second member of my Priest Quorum who I have interviewed and it was fantastic! Addison is a musician, computer programmer, and joyous light to all who cross his path. Kelsey Anderson just completed her service a week ago (as of this episodes release) as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day. She has an incredible testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is so grateful for her mission experience. We talk about so much from her decision to serve a mission, every day life as a missionary, and stories from her service.
