Places to Sleepis an ASMR-adjacent podcast with soft spoken or whispered descriptions of places, usually from fantasy books. This is the first episode of season two, after almost a year away. The pandemic started and I got overwhelmed. You know how it is. Rather than fixate on making something perfect I'm just going to make what I can, when I can. I hope that you enjoy this place to sleep.

I can be reached @Places2Sleep on Twitter, or places2sleep@gmail.com

Music is “Sleep” by Rest You Sleeping Giant. Modified by using only 1 minute, starting from around 15 seconds into the track. Link: https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Rest_You_Sleeping_Giant

  • 11 - Places to Sleep: Lost in a Good Book

I softly read you to sleep with place descriptions from fantasy and fiction. This episode's places are a dream, a library, and a hill during time travel. Read from Lost in a Good Book, by Jasper Fforde (2002). I made it to episode 10!! I'm really pleased that there have been some improvements as I go, despite the casual format (recorded on my phone, in bed, when people are not in the midst of loud conversations on other floors of the house). I tried a new intro on this one. If you've listened to more than one episode I'd love to hear from you on Twitter: @places2sleep (🎶 is Lucky Stars by Podington Bear, from the Free Music Archive).

  • 10 - Places to Sleep: Redwall Abbey

I softly read you to sleep with place descriptions from fantasy and fiction. This episode's places come from Redwall, by Brian Jaques (1997). Please note that I skip a lot of text to focus on descriptions, so these are not accurate readings - just pleasant ones. This episode has some minor spoilers for Redwall.
