My 1st guest on the Cali Cast Podcast is Willie Owusu the Fit Cinematographer. Willie used to work for a production company known as Vivid Features in the early 2000s. Episode number 2 ndio hii sasa, story ya the 1st song ever recorded as Calif Records. The song was titled Ruka, a dedication to my hood Calif and also the Ups and Downs we went through releasing the song and the people who were really instrumental in supporting us. Enjoy!!!

I was born and raised in California a hood in Pumwani, Nairobi. I grew up in a household where we listened to all genres of music but my 1st love was Hip Hop. The Matatu culture - the graffiti and the loud music - played a big role in my journey. In this episode we take it all the way to the Genesis!! Happy listening.
