- 181 - 10 Questions About the N-Word: Honest Answers from an Average Perspective
In Episode 174 of "You're Probably Right," MCM takes on 10 of the most common questions about the n-word that white people often want to ask but feel uncomfortable bringing up. Divided between questions from women and men, MCM answers each one with honesty and the intent to educate without judgment. This episode aims to foster understanding, break down barriers, and create a space for real conversation about a difficult topic. It’s all about tackling misconceptions, awkwardness, and ultimately moving towards a better understanding of language and its impact.
10 Frequently Asked Questions from White People About the N-Word
Why is it okay for Black people to use the n-word but not for white people?
Why does it seem like there’s a double standard when it comes to who can use the word? Isn’t it unfair that it’s allowed in certain contexts but not others?
How do Black women feel about being called the n-word by their friends or in relationships?
Is there a difference between how men and women react to being called this word casually? Does it hold different weight depending on who says it?
Does the context in which the word is used actually matter?
If someone says it in a non-hateful way, like singing along to a rap song, does that make it okay? Or does it still carry the same hurtful meaning?
How do you feel when you hear non-Black people singing the n-word in a song?
A lot of popular music includes the word. Does it feel offensive if someone sings along at a party or a concert?
Can the word ever be "reclaimed" by non-Black people in a positive way?
Black people have used the word as a way to take away its power—could non-Black people ever do the same, or is that impossible?
Why do some Black people use the n-word casually with each other if it has such a painful history?
Why keep using a word that’s tied to so much hurt and oppression? Is it really about empowerment, or is there more to it?
How would you respond if a close white friend used the n-word as a joke?
If they’re joking and there’s no malice behind it, is it really that big of a deal? Would it depend on how close you are?
Is it ever appropriate for white people to use the word if they’re in a setting with only Black friends?
Some people feel that if they’re "in the circle" it becomes okay. Does this hold any truth, or is it always off-limits no matter the situation?
Why does the n-word seem to have different meanings depending on who says it?
When a Black person says it, it’s sometimes seen as a term of endearment, but when a white person says it, it’s automatically seen as hateful. How does that work?
How can I support Black friends who feel hurt by the n-word being used?
What can I do to be a better ally and understand the impact this word has without overstepping or making it about myself?

Sat, 16 Nov 2024 - 36min - 176 - Challenging Advocacy Without Silencing Authentic Voices
Episode Description: In Episode 169 of "You're Probably Right," MCM shares a personal experience that raises critical questions about the state of advocacy, equity, and freedom of speech. Often, well-meaning advocacy turns into something else: a one-sided conversation where only those with the "right" opinions get heard. This episode challenges the current trend of silencing dissent and advocates for a balanced, authentic approach to change that respects everyone's voice—even when it’s uncomfortable.
We’ll explore the dangers of policing social media and how it stifles freedom of expression, whether it’s Trump or the average person on the street. We'll also discuss the nuances of achieving real equity without undermining hard-earned merit. This is an episode about how we can truly make progress, together.
Key Points and Insights:
Advocacy vs. Authentic Voices
It’s problematic when people advocate for a community but silence actual members when their views don’t align. Everyone’s voice should be heard—even if it doesn’t fit neatly into the narrative others want to push.Equity and Merit
Support for inclusion should not disregard merit and hard work. How do we balance striving for equity without undermining the value of dedication and individual achievement?Approach to Change
Challenging injustices is important, but not all situations benefit from loud or aggressive tactics. Nuanced, tactful approaches are often more effective for fostering real change.Freedom of Expression
Policing social media and silencing dissenting voices are major threats to societal progress. Suppression of diverse viewpoints hinders dialogue and closes doors to collaborative solutions.SEO Tags and Keywords: Authentic Voices in Advocacy, Equity vs. Merit in Inclusion, Freedom of Expression Debate, Social Media Censorship, Effective Approaches to Change, You're Probably Right with MCM, Political Perspectives on Economy and Healthcare, Balancing Advocacy and Representation, Genuine Community Advocacy, Navigating Traditional vs. Modern Roles in Advocacy
Thu, 14 Nov 2024 - 40min - 175 - Men and Vulnerability: 5 Insights Into How Men Experience Relationships"
Episode Description: In Episode 168 of "You're Probably Right," MCM tackles the complicated and often misunderstood experience of men in relationships. We're talking about ten insights that every man should hear—and every woman should know. This episode explores emotional vulnerability, societal expectations, the concept of respect, and the pressures that many men face as they try to balance traditional roles with modern demands. Men aren’t just the strong, silent types they’ve often been painted as; they are complex beings navigating a world that increasingly asks them to be different while simultaneously penalizing them for not staying the same.
If you've ever wondered why men find it so hard to open up, why they struggle with expressing their needs, or why respect is so crucial to them, this is the episode for you. These are real, raw answers about men’s emotions, their fears, and the realities they face every day—often without acknowledgment or understanding. It’s time to shine a light on the truth about men’s experiences in relationships, especially from a more traditional perspective.
5 Key Questions About Men and Emotional Vulnerability:
How do men perceive and handle societal expectations of masculinity, and how does this impact their behavior and relationships?
Men may feel marginalized by societal expectations that demand they abandon traditional masculinity while still fulfilling its responsibilities. This can lead to behaviors like doubling down on traditional traits or withdrawing to avoid criticism, both of which strain relationships.
What does respect mean to men, and how does it influence their interactions with their partners?
Respect means acknowledgment of their role, appreciation for their contributions, and trust in their judgment. When men feel respected, they are more affectionate and committed. Lack of respect can lead to resentment and disengagement, severely impacting the quality of the relationship.
In what ways do men feel misunderstood by women, and what impact does this have on their relationships?
Men often feel misunderstood when their desire to fulfill traditional roles is viewed as controlling or outdated. They may feel that their efforts are misinterpreted, leading to frustration and emotional distance, which can weaken the bond with their partner.
How do men balance the desire for independence with the commitment required in a serious relationship?
Independence is key to maintaining identity for men. They seek a balance where they can fulfill their roles without feeling constrained. When independence is misread as detachment, it creates conflict. Achieving balance requires understanding and open communication between partners.
What role does a partner's support and encouragement play in a man's personal growth and self-esteem?
A partner's support is crucial to a man’s sense of purpose. Encouragement affirms his role and bolsters confidence, motivating him to strive for success. In contrast, criticism can undermine his self-esteem, leading to withdrawal and disengagement.

Sun, 18 Aug 2024 - 43min - 162 - When they let you down
When someone lets you down, just remember that it’s part of the game. Nobody’s perfect; everyone’s out here doing their own thing. It’s like trying to walk two dogs with one leash—things are bound to get tangled up. Once you realize that, it won’t sting as much when someone drops the ball.
Now, it’s all good to expect your partner—whether you’re married or just business buddies—to be dependable. But let’s be real: your deal-breakers need a reality check. You want food, shelter, a chat every now and then, emotional support, and a little action in the bedroom. But at some point, you’ve got to compromise. It’s like deciding between a five-star meal or a quick drive-thru—you’ve got to pick your battles. You’re not gonna talk about deep feelings right when the game’s on, and you know it. It’s about making sure both of you are happy, even if you have to pretend you like kale salads once in a while.
Broken promises? Unmet expectations? They’re coming, guaranteed. The real question is, how fast can you brush it off? If you’ve got the forgiveness thing down, these slip-ups won’t even phase you. If you really care about each other, you won’t let it slide into a bad habit—unless you’re talking about leaving the toilet seat up, then all bets are off. Talking it out makes sure you’re both on the same page, like two people trying to assemble IKEA furniture—you might get it wrong a few times, but eventually, you figure it out.
At the end of the day, if you both agree that trust, honesty, and a little give-and-take are what really matter, then the small stuff won’t even register. We’ve all got our quirks—maybe you leave your socks everywhere, maybe they’re obsessed with folding laundry just so—but if you can laugh about it, those little things won’t mess with you. And remember, nothing lasts forever—so enjoy the ride, even if it’s a little bumpy.

The Role of Faith in Strengthening Marriage
Faith plays a pivotal role in marriage by fostering a shared belief system. Couples who pray together, attend religious services, and engage in spiritual practices often find that their bond strengthens, providing a unified front against life's challenges. Faith encourages forgiveness, patience, and mutual support, which are essential for a strong marital foundation.
Balancing Traditional Roles with Modern Expectations
Incorporating traditional roles within modern marriage involves mutual respect and adaptability. This balance allows couples to honor their traditions while embracing the flexibility required in today's fast-paced world.
Upholding Traditional Family Values

Navigating Cultural Pressures
In today's secular world, couples often face cultural pressures that challenge traditional values. It's essential to prioritize your relationship over societal expectations, ensuring that your bond remains strong despite external influences.
Instilling Values in Children
For couples with children, instilling traditional and religious values is paramount. This involves consistent teaching, leading by example, and creating a home environment that reflects these values. Teaching children the importance of faith and commitment helps them develop a strong moral foundation that will guide them throughout their lives.

Wed, 14 Feb 2024 - 32min - 141 - Why Celebs Sell US Junk
Hey, hey, hey! Welcome back to "You're Probably Right," hosted by yours truly, MCM. Buckle up, folks, because today, we're diving headfirst into the glamorous, and sometimes, head-scratching world of celebrities and their, let’s just say, "unique" business ventures.
Now, picture this: You've got more money than you can count, you're at the top of your game, whether that's throwing balls, dropping beats, or lighting up the silver screen. Life's good. But then, out of nowhere, you decide, "Hey, why don't I start selling... booze? Or better yet, let's put my face on a blender that can barely crush ice." Sounds bizarre? Oh, you betcha. But stick with me, because this rabbit hole goes deep and is as twisted as a pretzel at a yoga class.
First up, let's talk diversification. In the world of glitz and glam, where careers can be as fleeting as a cameo in a sitcom, these A-listers are playing the long game. It's like, "Sure, I can dunk, but can I also convince you to buy this suspiciously cheap steak knife set?" It's all about having a backup plan when the spotlight starts to dim, kinda like keeping a spare tire, but instead of a tire, it's a winery.
Then, there's the whole deal with marketability. Imagine having millions of fans who hang onto your every word, tweet, or Instagram post. You could sell snow to an Eskimo or, in this case, overpriced headphones to someone with no ears. It's the golden ticket to the endorsement train, baby, and this train stops for no one.
But hey, let's not forget about passion. Maybe, just maybe, our beloved celeb has always dreamt of crafting the perfect tequila or running a burger joint. It's their "Field of Dreams," but instead of ghosts, it's filled with cash registers. And who are we to judge? After all, everyone deserves a shot at their dreams, even if it means selling hot sauce that could double as engine degreaser.
Now, onto financial security and legacy building. It's not just about stacking paper for a rainy day; it's about cementing their status as an icon for eternity. Because nothing says "I've made it" quite like having your name on a slot machine in Vegas, right? It's about leaving a mark, ensuring that their name lives on, even if it's in the form of a neon sign above a dive bar.
And let's talk influence. These aren't just random ventures; they're carefully calculated moves, orchestrated by an entourage of managers and financial advisors. It's like having a personal team of Gandalfs, guiding you through the treacherous paths of investment, whispering, "This is the way, young Skywalker." Wait, wrong franchise, but you get the drift.
So, as we wrap up this rollercoaster of a journey through the land of celebrity entrepreneurship, let's take a moment to ponder. Maybe, just maybe, the next time we see our favorite actor promoting a line of eco-friendly toilet brushes, instead of asking "Why?" we'll nod knowingly and say, "Ah, playing the long game, I see."
And who knows? Maybe one day, I'll launch my own line of products. MCM's Magic Mic: the only microphone that not only amplifies your voice but also your bank account. Because, in the end, aren't we all just trying to make a little extra dough on the side?
Thanks for tuning in to "You're Probably Right." Remember, in the wacky world of fame and fortune, you might think it's all glitz and glamour, but sometimes, it's just about finding the right blender to put your name on. Catch you on the flip side!

Sat, 30 Dec 2023 - 36min - 132 - The Omnipotence of love a Teaching of Elisabeth Elliott read by MCM
Introduction: "Welcome to another episode of 'You're Probably Right,' I'm your host, MCM. Today, we're delving deep into a topic that's both timeless and controversial: the omnipotence of love. This concept, as taught by Elisabeth Elliot in her 1994 lecture, challenges our conventional understanding of love. We often hear about love in songs, movies, and stories, but what we're exploring today goes beyond the superficial. It's about the sacrificial, transformative power of love, a kind that's often not talked about, or perhaps, not allowed to be said in today's day and age." Adaptation: "The core of this teaching revolves around the idea that true love, especially from a Christian perspective, is not just an emotion but an act of sacrifice. It's about putting others before ourselves, a concept quite alien to what Hollywood or popular culture often depicts. Love, in its most potent form, is about giving without expecting anything in return, about enduring hardships, and about finding strength in vulnerability. Elliot brings up the example of hymns and scriptures, where love is often equated with selflessness and sacrifice. She talks about how these hymns, sung thoughtlessly in childhood, hold deep theological truths about love and sacrifice, truths that become more apparent as we grow older. One of the most striking points in Elliot's lecture is the comparison between worldly gains and sacrificial love. She challenges the listener to reconsider what we value most in life. Is it wealth, fame, or success? Or is it the ability to love selflessly, as exemplified by Christ on the cross? Elliot also highlights the importance of teaching these values to the younger generation. The power of love isn't just a concept to be understood but a practice to be lived out. She emphasizes the role of parents in instilling these values in their children, not just through words but through actions and examples. As we explore these themes further, the lecture takes us on a journey of understanding love not just as a concept but as a transformative force. It's about seeing love as an action, a decision to put others first, to sacrifice, and to give without the expectation of receiving." Conclusion: "In today's episode, we've revisited Elisabeth Elliot's profound insights on the omnipotence of love. While the world might shy away from talking about the sacrificial aspect of love, it's a conversation we need to have. True love is not just about feelings; it's about actions, sacrifices, and sometimes, going against our very nature for the sake of others. As we wrap up, let's ponder on how we can incorporate this selfless, sacrificial love into our own lives. Tue, 19 Dec 2023 - 53min - 130 - What is your time worth? : Beyond Monetary Measures You're probably right ! with MCM
Title: "Time's True Worth: Beyond Monetary Measures with MCM" Description: Explore the depths of life's most valuable asset - time - in this thought-provoking episode of "You're Probably Right" with your host MCM. We'll dissect the often overlooked significance of time in relation to financial gains, challenging the standard narrative of wealth accumulation. Uncover the concept of 'time affluence' and how it shapes our well-being, lifestyle choices, and societal expectations. Engage with us in a conversation about prioritizing experiences over possessions, and learn strategies to embrace a life focused more on living than earning. This episode promises a refreshing perspective on personal growth, happiness, and the art of savoring the present, steering clear of personal anecdotes to focus on universal truths. Tune in to understand why time, not money, is the true cornerstone of a fulfilling life. The phrase "Only what you do for Christ will last" is not a direct quote from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible or any specific scripture. It's a sentiment that reflects a Christian perspective, emphasizing the importance and enduring nature of actions done in the service or name of Jesus Christ. This concept is echoed in various biblical passages that speak to the impermanence of worldly achievements and the lasting value of spiritual or Christ-centered deeds. For instance, in Matthew 6:19-21 (ESV), Jesus teaches about storing up treasures in heaven rather than on earth. In 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 (ESV), Paul talks about the foundation that is Jesus Christ and how each person's work will be tested by fire to see what lasts. These passages, among others, convey a similar message to the phrase you mentioned, highlighting the idea that actions rooted in faith and done for Christ have eternal significance. Matthew 6:19-21 (ESV): “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 (ESV): “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.” For your episode where you want to discuss the value of time over income or money without delving into personal relationship experiences, here are ten leading questions you can use: How does one measure the true value of time, especially when compared to monetary gains? Can you share a story where someone chose time over money and how it positively affected their life? What are some common misconceptions about wealth and happiness that you've observed? How do societal expectations about lifestyle and success impact our appreciation for time? Could you elaborate on the concept of 'time affluence' and how it contributes to overall well-being? In what ways can prioritizing time over money lead to more meaningful personal growth and relationships? How does the pursuit of money limit our ability to experience and enjoy the present moment? Can you discuss the long-term benefits of investing in experiences rather than material possessions? What strategies can individuals employ to shift their focus from earning to living? How do you see the role of time changing in the future as we continue to navigate a fast-paced, economically driven world?

'Black kids: University bound?'"
Hey, you! Time to dive deep into a topic that's got us scratching our heads and pondering big questions on "You're Probably Right." This episode is like stepping into a mind gym – equal parts thought-provoking and mind-bending.
So, here we are, raising a virtual eyebrow and asking why university doors might seem a bit tougher to crack for black students. It's like trying to solve an epic puzzle that's missing a few pieces. But hey, we're up for the challenge.
First up, we're talking about the heavyweight champs: What's really behind those lower university enrollment rates for black students? Are there hidden obstacles we're not seeing? And don't even get us started on those socioeconomic inequalities – they're like roadblocks on the path to quality education.
We're wading through the swamp of systemic stuff too. Think of inadequate school resources and funding that could be boxing black students out of the higher education ring.
But wait, representation is a big player in this game. We're taking a magnifying glass to how academic environments reflect back on black kids' aspirations. And who knew cultural factors and historical experiences could be behind some of those major decisions about university?
Here's where the plot thickens – community-based initiatives that are throwing a lifeline to bridge the gap. And we're diving into the pool of financial worries – how does the fear of student loan debt play into whether black kids dive into the university pool?
Now, let's talk mentors. Or maybe lack thereof. How's that impacting the confidence and readiness of black students eyeing the university scene? Oh, and let's not forget the media circus – how much is pop culture steering the ship?
But fear not, we're ending on a high note. Innovative approaches that could make university dreams a reality – education, mentorship, and community power-ups.
So, hang on tight and tune into "You're Probably Right" for this wild ride. It's like unwrapping a mystery you never knew existed. 🎙️🔍

You’re Probably Right Podcast
A weekly podcast featuring MCM.
Listen NowI want to talk about the recent decision by the Canadian government to ban TikTok from its mobile devices. This move comes just days after federal and provincial privacy commissioners launched an investigation into the social media platform. In a statement from Treasury Board President Mona Fortier, it was announced that the application will be removed from government-issued mobile devices on Tuesday. The decision follows a review by the chief information officer of Canada, who determined that TikTok "presents an unacceptable level of risk to privacy and security." The ban is a precautionary measure that brings Canada's policy in line with international partners. Both the U.S. and the European Union have recently banned government staff from using TikTok on work-issued devices. The video platform has long been embroiled in privacy concerns because the Chinese government has a stake in its owner, ByteDance, and laws allow the country to access user data. This has caused concern among many countries, including Canada. Last week, the federal privacy watchdog and its counterparts in B.C., Alberta and Quebec announced an investigation to delve into whether it complies with Canadian privacy legislation. While the risks of using this application are clear, there is currently no evidence that government information has been compromised. However, this ban comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions with China. Earlier this month, the U.S. shot down a Chinese high-altitude balloon that had flown through Canadian airspace, saying it was a suspected spy device. China's government has said it was a weather balloon that went off course. In addition, recent media reports have raised concerns about potential Chinese interference in the last two Canadian federal elections, prompting opposition parties to call for a public inquiry into alleged foreign election interference. Overall, the Canadian government's decision to ban TikTok from its mobile devices is a necessary precautionary measure to protect the privacy and security of its citizens. As technology continues to advance, it is important for governments to take proactive steps to safeguard their citizens' data and information. Thank you for listening. Government typically refers to the system or body of individuals that have the authority to govern or regulate a particular geographical area or country. This can include the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, as well as other government agencies and institutions that work to carry out the policies and laws of the government. The primary function of a government is to provide governance and regulation, maintain law and order, and provide services and resources to its citizens, such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Bible here is what the Bible says about how individuals should treat the government or kings. According to the New Testament in the book of Romans, chapter 13, verses 1-7, individuals should submit to the governing authorities because they have been established by God. This passage emphasizes that those who rebel against the authorities are actually rebelling against God and will face judgment. It's important to note that this passage also teaches that governments have been established to promote good and punish evil. As long as individuals are doing what is right, they should not be afraid of the authorities. Additionally, the passage teaches that individuals should pay taxes and give respect to those in authority. Another example can be found in the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 7. Here, the prophet instructs the Israelites who had been taken into exile in Babylon to seek the welfare of the city and pray for its rulers. This passage emphasizes the importance of respecting and seeking the well-being of those in
Tue, 28 Feb 2023 - 28min - 93 - Are you actually a Christian?
Summary
In this episode of the "You're Probably Right" podcast, the host MCM discusses the difference between being a Christian and not being a Christian, using teachings from the Holy Bible, King James version. The host emphasizes that since the beginning of time, Satan has been trying to pollute and mix with God's people, leading to confusion about who is a true Christian, from the grassroots to the top. To identify a true Christian, the host stresses the importance of understanding the doctrine of deliverance, which results in a dramatic change in personal life and behavior. The host believes that the only hope for the church is discriminating and discerning preaching, which can counteract the decline in English-speaking churches during the twentieth century. Welcome to the podcast, folks! Today, we are going to talk about a very important topic - the difference between being a Christian and not being a Christian. We will dive deep into this topic by exploring some teachings from the Holy Bible, King James version.
Sat, 25 Feb 2023 - 25min - 92 - What you wont do for love Rambling uncensored thoughts
When it comes to love, people can do all sorts of things, from grand romantic gestures to simple acts of kindness. Some might write love letters, serenade their beloved, or plan a surprise romantic getaway. Others might make sacrifices, put their own needs aside, or lend a supportive ear during tough times. In the end, what one might do for love depends on the individual and the relationship, but it's safe to say that love can inspire people to do things they never thought possible. Love is a powerful force that can bring people together, but sometimes, it can also tear them apart. Even with the best intentions, relationships can fall apart, and love can turn sour. Perhaps one partner is unable to meet the other's expectations, or misunderstandings and miscommunications lead to hurt feelings and resentment. Maybe one partner sacrifices too much for the other, leading to feelings of imbalance or resentment. Whatever the cause, it's important to remember that love isn't always enough to sustain a relationship, and even the best intentions can lead to heartbreak. While the end of every love story may not necessarily end in despair, it's true that the finality of life's time limits can cast a shadow over even the happiest and most loving of marriages. No matter how perfect a relationship may seem, the reality is that all good things must come to an end, and that includes our time on this earth. The knowledge that one day we will have to say goodbye to the ones we love can be a heavy burden to bear, and it can make us appreciate our time with them all the more. However, it's also important to remember that the time we have with our loved ones is precious, and we should cherish it as much as possible, even in the face of life's inevitable end. Ultimately, the fact that our time on earth is limited can be a reminder to make the most of every moment we have with the ones we love.

Mon, 19 Dec 2022 - 1h 01min - 84 - power under control (Meekness)
In this episode, I read a teaching by Pastor John MacArthur. one that has made a huge impact on me. The Lowly Walk. http://www.gty.org/library/sermons-library/1923 Some people will say to me, “You know, that’s really wonderful, and appreciate that message. It’s so ministered to me.” And as soon as they walk by, another person will come up and say, “Did you feel poorly today?” “You didn’t seem like you were yourself. It just – something was missing.” You know? You just really don’t know. And so, it kind of tends to cancel itself out. But it was interesting to me; the last couple of weeks I realized that I haven’t been going very fast. In fact, we’ve been in the first couple of verses here for weeks, and it’s amazing. But it’s interesting to see the response. Last week I intended to preach the message that I’ll go ahead and preach this morning, if I get done with this introduction. But I didn’t. I just digressed, and I just kind of shared my heart. And I’ve done that now three or four times since I was away in Brazil, and even before that, God was doing some things in my own heart. And it’s been interesting, because some people will write me. And I got a wonderful letter. I picked one up even in my little box this morning. It said, “Thank you so much for stopping in the midst of this to share the things that are on your heart and make it practical. God has really ministered to me.”

Matthew 6:25-34New International Version Do Not Worry 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Call first thing in the morning or call in the middle of the night? Board games or video games? Photos or videos? Social media message or text message? Take a friend on your family vacation or join a friend on their family vacation? Group hangout or one-on-one hangout? French fries or onion rings? Share food or don’t share food? Use meetings to: - Collaborate - Attack issues head-on - Solve urgent problems But once you resolve the issue, frequent meetings are no longer necessary. You can resolve most issues without a meeting Instead of meetings: - Send a text - Send an email - Communicate on a discord or slack channel Don "† interrupt your team 's workflow if it's unnecessary. 6) Use common sense If a company rule doesn't: - Make sense - Contribute to progress - Apply to your specific situation Avoid following the rule with your eyes closed. Don't follow rules. Follow principles.
