Nach Genre filtern
- 134 - Meditation #127
In this meditation we’ll simply listen to the sounds arising all around us, allowing what comes and allowing what goes. We’ll also invite a sense of openness into the experience — hearing the sounds without judgement or inner commentary, just letting them be as they are. By doing this we can begin to relax into our direct experience, sensing our surroundings with a beginner’s mind.
I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 15 Oct 2024 - 15min - 133 - Meditation #126
In this meditation we’ll begin by simply noticing the breath, and from there we’ll allow ourselves to recognise the ever-present nature of the breath — acknowledging its constant functioning, both within and without our conscious awareness. From this place of recognition we can simply place our trust in the process of breathing, knowing that it’s enough to simply notice and pay attention to the breath without trying to do anything to it. The breath is as it is, and if we can leave it alone and simply observe its movements, we can then begin to cultivate an experience of deeper presence, stillness, and acceptance.

Wed, 09 Oct 2024 - 12min - 132 - Meditation #125
In this meditation we’ll expand our awareness to cover the whole body — watching the body as it sits here, meditating. There’s no goal beyond this, we’ll simply observe the body sitting without any expectations or ideas. When thoughts, emotions, or physical sensations arise, we can gently acknowledge them before guiding our attention back to the body sitting.

Tue, 08 Oct 2024 - 13min - 131 - Sitting Peacefully
In this meditation we’ll set the simple intention of sitting peacefully — just sitting with a sense of peace and ease. If at any point our mind begins to wander we can just gently remind ourselves of our intention, coming back to the simple act of sitting here peacefully, with nothing else to concern ourselves with.

Mon, 07 Oct 2024 - 11min - 130 - Nothing to Offer
In this meditation we’ll just sit and invite ourselves to simply recognise that this moment is complete and whole exactly as it is, without anything needing to be added to it. Then, taking this further, we’ll also invite the gentle recognition that we ourselves, within this moment, are also complete and whole. If this is the case then, again, there’s nothing that needs to be added — nothing that can be offered or accepted, sought or attained. We’re simply here as we are, resting in this moment.

Wed, 02 Oct 2024 - 10min - 129 - Resting
In this meditation we’ll begin by bringing some gentle awareness, in turn, to the breath, the body, and the sounds in our environment. Then, once we’ve settled into this experience, we’ll simply drop everything and come to rest exactly as we are — with no expectations and thing to do. Just sitting and resting.

Tue, 01 Oct 2024 - 11min - 128 - Nothing to Do
In this meditation we’ll sit in the simple awareness that there’s nothing at all that we need to do. Just sitting, for a few minutes, doing absolutely nothing — recognising that there’s nothing that needs to be done. Simply being with what is.
I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 09 Sep 2024 - 15min - 127 - Tuning into Stillness
In this meditation we’ll tune into the stillness that’s all around us, all the time. By using the analogy of the mind being like a radio, we can visualise how it’s possible to tune into to different frequencies of experience. In this case, and for this practice, we’ll gently invite the mind to tune into the frequency of stillness — coming to rest in a place of natural, effortless peace and silence.

Tue, 20 Aug 2024 - 14min - 126 - Resting Here
In this meditation we’ll begin to notice and pay attention to the present moment that’s unfolding all around us. Recognising that this moment is completely whole as it is, and demands nothing of us, we can invite a sense of release and gentleness into our experience — simply sitting and resting here in this moment, without any expectations.

Thu, 15 Aug 2024 - 12min - 125 - The Space of Silence
In this meditation we’ll begin by noticing all the sounds that are arising and passing away around us — tuning into the soundscape of our immediate environment. We’ll then start to recognise the constant, ever-present silent space that surrounds these sounds. Resting our awareness in this silent space, we’ll just sit, noticing how all the sounds we ever hear are simply arising and fading away in this space — this vast landscape of silence.
I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 13 Aug 2024 - 15min - 124 - The Spark of Awareness
In this meditation we’ll recognise that although the mind may wander many times during our practice, what’s important is the simple moment of noticing that the mind has wandered. This moment is a spark of awareness — a break in the wandering activity of the mind — when we become fully conscious of, and awake to, our present experience. To simply notice that the mind has wandered is enough. Like lighting a match a dark room, to continuously spark up our awareness, over and over again, constantly recognising that the mind has wandered and bringing it back to the breath, is enough to bring light and clarity to our practice.

Mon, 12 Aug 2024 - 12min - 123 - Being Bored
In this meditation we’ll sit doing nothing at all, and within this experience we’ll begin to recognise that this state of having nothing to do and nowhere to go is often what we perceive as boredom. But by consciously sitting in “boredom” we can come to realise, through our own direct experience, that whichever moment we find ourselves in there’s always something happening — even something as subtle as the fact that we’re breathing. In this way we can learn to become more comfortable in moments of “boredom”, using them instead as opportunities to engage with our senses, our direct experience, and the world around us.

Wed, 07 Aug 2024 - 11min - 122 - Breathing In, Breathing Out
In this meditation we’ll begin by settling our attention on the breath. From there, to help us maintain our attention, we’ll label each inhalation and exhalation as they arise. On the in-breath we’ll silently say “breathing in”, and on the out-breath “breathing out”. This simple method of labelling the breath can be really helpful, not only in helping us to stay with the sensations of breathing but also for settling and quieting the mind.

Tue, 06 Aug 2024 - 12min - 121 - Noticing the Breath
In this meditation we’ll simply notice the breath — becoming aware of its presence and watching as it moves through the body. Inviting a sense of genuine curiosity to our experience, we can allow the breath to become the centre of our awareness, simply noticing and watching it without any expectation.

Mon, 05 Aug 2024 - 12min - 120 - Resting the Attention
In this meditation we’ll invite our attention to simply rest on the breath. This spirit of restfulness can really help us to bring a more gentle and open approach to our practice, instead of a more forceful and goal-oriented one. Allowing our attention just to rest, rather than actively placing it somewhere, can make a very subtle yet noticeable change to our experience. Thu, 01 Aug 2024 - 11min - 119 - A Simple Gift
In this meditation we’ll become aware of the simple and constant gift of the breath — this life-giving mechanism that keeps us alive and functioning, without ever asking anything from us in return. From this place of awareness we can then begin to cultivate feelings of gratitude and thankfulness towards the breath, taking a few moments out of our day to really become aware of this freely-given and ever-present gift of breathing. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 30 Jul 2024 - 07min - 118 - Letting Go on the Breath
In this meditation we’ll use the breath to help us let go of anything we’ve been holding on to that we’d like to release. Anger, frustration, worry, stress — anything that we’d rather not hold, and anything that isn’t serving us in a positive and constructive way, we can invite to simply dissolve and flow away with each out breath — using the breath to release, let go, and ultimately bring us a sense of renewal. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 29 Jul 2024 - 09min - 117 - Sitting in the Rain (with ambient sound)
In this meditation we’ll first anchor ourselves in the breath, and then we’ll open up our practice to include the ambient sound of the rain. As we listen to the sound of the rain, we can become aware of how the ambience of our own inner experience subtly shifts in response to the soundscape. At the same time we can allow the noise, as well as the movement of our breath, to gently guide us into a more relaxed, serene, and peaceful state of mind. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Fri, 19 Jul 2024 - 08min - 116 - Awareness of the Moment
In this meditation we’ll begin by resting our attention on the impressions and sensations that arise and dissolve through the senses — smells, tastes, sights, thoughts and feelings. Then we’ll allow our awareness to expand into a more open and receptive state, being fully attentive to everything that’s unfolding in the present moment, and simply noticing whatever arises without clinging to anything or pushing anything away. Sitting with this kind of openness and acceptance can be a really powerful way of learning to let go of our attachments and, instead, simply be with whatever’s here, in this particular moment. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 18 Jul 2024 - 15min - 115 - The Balm of the Breath
In this meditation we’ll imagine the breath as a balm that soothes and massages the body, both internally and externally, as we sit and breathe. With each inhale and exhale we’ll allow ourselves to feel this balm completely calming, healing, and refreshing the body, ultimately leaving us feeling renewed, relaxed, and soothed. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. But if you benefit from them and wish to support these offerings, please consider visiting my Buy Me A Coffee page: www.buymeacoffee.com/onebowlmindfulness Thank you so much for sitting and practicing with me. Wed, 17 Jul 2024 - 09min - 114 - The Unmoving Feather
In this meditation we’ll begin by bringing some gentle awareness to the breath as it flows at the tip of the nose. Then we’ll invite the breath to become softer and more subtle. In order to do this we’ll use the image of a feather — we’ll imagine that our breath is so soft, calm, and gentle, that it couldn't even ruffle a feather being held directly under our nose. Often it can be enough to simply hold the intention of softening the breath, but sometimes it can also be helpful to use imagery to really allow us to feel and envision what a soft breath actually looks like. This, in turn, can bring a deeper sense of peace and stillness into our practice, offering us a new way of experiencing the breath and its wonderful capacity to foster clarity, calm, and mindful awareness. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Tue, 16 Jul 2024 - 09min - 113 - Leaves on a Stream
In this meditation we’ll visualise ourselves sitting next to a stream, watching the water flow by. Then, whenever a thought arises we’ll imagine ourselves placing it on a leaf and allowing it to float away down the stream. And we’ll simply continue to do this: watching the stream, and whenever thoughts arise placing them onto leaves and sending them along the with the water. Meditations like this one, where we imagine thoughts as objects, can be a really effective way of creating space in the mind and bringing ourselves into a more relaxed, calm, and open state. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 15 Jul 2024 - 10min - 112 - The Breath is Enough
In this meditation we’ll take some time to pay attention to the breath, noticing how, in the end, simply watching the breath is all that we really need to. In fact, the breath itself is enough — just to breathe, and to know that we’re breathing. Once we make room for the simplicity of this realisation we can then open up to a way of being that’s more expansive, more relaxed, and more accepting. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Fri, 12 Jul 2024 - 11min - 111 - Quietly, Quietly
In this meditation we’ll first become aware of the breath — connecting with the physical sensations of breathing. Once we’ve established this connection, we’ll simply invite the breath to become more quiet. By setting this intention of quietness, we can gradually settle ourselves into a deeper state of stillness and peace, recognising and resting in the quietness that’s always present at the very centre of our experience, and that’s always available to us whenever we rest our awareness on it for long enough. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 11 Jul 2024 - 09min - 110 - Sinking, Melting
In this meditation we’ll begin by resting our attention on the out-breath, paying more attention to the body as it exhales. Then, allowing the breath to lead us into a more restful state, with each exhale we’ll invite the body to sink and melt into stillness. In this way we can gradually and gently deepen our relaxation, bringing both the body and mind into a place of deep rest and calm. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Tue, 09 Jul 2024 - 09min - 109 - A Friend to the World
In this meditation we’ll call to mind the image of a good friend — someone who naturally makes us smile and brings us happiness. Then we’ll radiate feelings of goodwill, wishes of happiness, out towards them. After doing this for a while we’ll gently let go of the image of our friend and allow the positive feelings of friendliness that we’ve been cultivating to flow out in all directions, touching everyone and everything, unconditionally and naturally, the way that a lightbulb shines its light on everything without discrimination. In this way we can feel what it’s like, even just for a short while, to be a friend to entire world — wishing goodwill to all. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Wed, 03 Jul 2024 - 11min - 108 - Expanding, Relaxing, Relaxing
In this meditation we’ll tune into the sensations of the body, expanding and relaxing, as the breath comes in and goes out. We can then use these sensations to help strengthen the connection between body and mind — bringing us into a state of deeper, more mindful, awareness. But as we continue, we’ll begin to release the expansive part of the breath from our attention, focussing more intently on the relaxing aspect — the exhale — and cultivating the feelings of tranquility and release that accompany the out-breath. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 02 Jul 2024 - 07min - 107 - Settle, Settle
In this meditation we’ll come into stillness, gradually relaxing the mind and body and allowing ourselves — like stirred-up water in a pond — to settle into a state of quiet, undisturbed calm. Then, resting in this settled state, we can invite a wonderful sense of space, clarity, and peace into our experience. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 01 Jul 2024 - 10min - 106 - Heart Coherence
In this meditation we’ll connect with the energetic centre of the heart, breathing through this area of the body and, if it feels comfortable, establishing a physical connection with it by placing our hands on the chest. As we breathe through the heart, we’ll then begin to cultivate feelings of appreciation, calm, and ease, and invite these into the rhythm and flow of our breathing. This meditation is based on a technique taught by the HeartMath Institute, and can be used to strengthen attributes of compassion and care, as well as restoring balance in stressful moments.

Fri, 28 Jun 2024 - 07min - 105 - Following the Thread
In this meditation we’ll use the metaphor of the breath as a thread as a way of engaging with our breathing in a new way. The breath is such a wonderful support for our practice, and it’s a really effective object to work with for both beginning and experienced meditators. For me, finding new ways of approaching the breath — considering new metaphors and images to work with — is a great way of keeping my practice fresh and engaging. I hope it will resonate with you as well. This metaphor of the breath as a thread was inspired by a talk given by Gil Fronsdal as part of his “Mindfulness of Breathing” series, which is free to listen to on the Audio Dharma website. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Thu, 27 Jun 2024 - 11min - 104 - Clear Water
In this meditation we’ll imagine ourselves stepping into a pool of clear, bright water, and allowing the renewing, healing properties of the water to wash over us, filling us with a sense of refreshment. Visualising water can be a wonderful way to bring a sense of clarity and calm to our practice, whilst also infusing our experience with the bright, fluid, and open qualities that water possesses. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 25 Jun 2024 - 10min - 103 - One, One, One
In this meditation we’ll silently and steadily repeat the word ‘one’ over and over to ourselves. There’s no particular significance to the word itself — the intention is only that we focus on the repetition of it. In this way we can engage in a kind of neutral mantra practice, using the word to anchor our attention and bring us into a deeper state of calm, stillness, and peace, whilst simultaneously promoting focus and concentration. One of the other wonderful things about any kind of mantra-style practice is that it can really help to silence our mental chatter — because when we set the mind the simple task of repeating a word, it can become much more difficult for the inner dialogue to establish itself and take over. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 24 Jun 2024 - 11min - 102 - You’re Breathing Anyway
In this meditation we’ll draw some attention to the basic fact that we’re always breathing — automatically, constantly, and unconsciously. With this in mind we can begin to see the breath as a simple and natural anchor for our meditation practice, approaching it with the view that if we’re breathing anyway, we might as well engage the breath as a support for our practice. This can be a surprisingly liberating way of relating to the breath, as it can help us to relax and release some of the effort and energy we tend to put into our meditation — offering us a constant and natural object that requires nothing more than our simple and bare attention. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 17 Jun 2024 - 10min - 101 - Staying in the Middle
In this meditation we’ll settle into a middle way between making too much effort and making no effort at all. Resting in this middle space we can invite a sense of openness and ease into our experience, learning to let go of the need to constantly exert ourselves, whilst at the same time maintaining the energy and enthusiasm we need to continue practicing. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Fri, 14 Jun 2024 - 10min - 100 - Little Mountain
In this meditation we’ll bring to mind the image of a mountain, becoming aware of its qualities of strength, resilience, and deep stillness. We’ll then imagine ourselves merging with that mountain, absorbing all of those wonderful qualities into ourselves. By becoming a mountain in this symbolic way we can invite a strong sense of grounding and calm into our experience, feeling rooted, still, and centred in the midst of a busy world. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Thu, 13 Jun 2024 - 08min - 99 - The Constant Gift
In this meditation we’ll open up to the idea of the breath as a gift — one that’s constantly present. Rather than viewing the breath as nothing more than a physical mechanism, we can instead develop a sense of gratitude and appreciation towards it as something deeper — a life-sustaining gift that’s offered to us freely, moment after moment, throughout our entire life. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 10 Jun 2024 - 13min - 98 - Noticing the Thought
In this meditation we’ll simply watch the breath and notice any thoughts that come into our awareness. To notice a thought is a subtle yet powerful act of mindfulness — to notice something implies that we experience a certain degree of separateness from it. So to notice a thought means that we’re not caught up in it. We might get lost for a while in daydreams, thoughts, and memories, but the moment we notice that we’re lost we immediately come back. It’s difficult to be lost and found, asleep and awake, at the same time. So this simple act of noticing is actually an incredibly powerful tool for cultivating, and remaining in, mindful awareness. Thu, 06 Jun 2024 - 10min - 97 - Beginner’s Mind
In this meditation we’ll reconnect with our beginner’s mind, inviting a new and fresh perspective into our practice. By cultivating a beginner’s mind we can approach each breath, each moment, as if for the first time, dropping all our expectations and assumptions and simply being present with the vast, open, and expansive moment as it unfolds around us. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Tue, 04 Jun 2024 - 12min - 96 - Knowing Where You Are
In this meditation we’ll cultivate a solid and grounded sense of knowing exactly where we are, both physically (as in the felt sensations of our body sitting or lying in space) and mentally (as in the thoughts and emotions that are present with us as we practice). Maintaining this kind of simple awareness can be soothing and at the same time empowering — allowing us to feel a deeper connection to our lived experience, both internally and externally. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 30 May 2024 - 08min - 95 - Calm
In this meditation we’ll establish some contact with the body by first placing a hand on the chest and a hand on the belly, bringing our awareness to the breath as it moves and flows through the belly, ribs, and chest. Then we’ll just watch the breath and the body gently expanding and contracting in this way, allowing the rhythm, movements, and sensations to guide us into a deeper state of presence and calm. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Fri, 24 May 2024 - 10min - 94 - Thumbs to Fingers
In this meditation we’ll just take a few minutes to ground ourselves by connecting the mind and the body. The exercise is simple and easy: placing our attention on one hand at a time, we’ll touch the thumb to each finger, one after the other, and then allow the hand to rest. We’ll do this once with each hand and then take a few short moments to sit in silence. Small, mindful exercises like these can really help to settle the mind and bring some balance and calm into our day. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 23 May 2024 - 05min - 93 - Mindfulness of Breathing
In this meditation we’ll bring some mindful awareness to the breath. Simply watching the movements of the breath, noticing when our attention has wandered, and gently bringing ourselves back to the anchor of breathing. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Wed, 22 May 2024 - 09min - 92 - Tensing, Releasing
In this meditation we’ll work our way down from the head to the feet, gradually, one by one, inviting various body parts to relax and release as we alternate between tensing them and completely letting go. In this way, not only can we bring a heightened awareness to each part of the body we’re focussing on, but we can facilitate an experience of soothing, calming physical release. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Tue, 21 May 2024 - 13min - 91 - Where Is the Attention?
In this meditation we’ll anchor our attention on the breath as it flows at the tip of the nose. Then, as the meditation progresses, we’ll keep asking the question: where is the attention now? Through this question we can bring immediate awareness to the state of our attention, and, because we’ve already set an anchor for the practice, we can simply observe whether our mind has stayed with the breath at the nose or whether it has wandered off into thoughts and daydreams. This sort of gentle questioning can be a really effective way to notice how close to, or far away from, the anchor we are at any given moment. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 20 May 2024 - 09min - 90 - Counting Like a Snail
In this meditation we’ll simply count our breaths - going from one to ten and then starting again at one. Moving as slow as a snail, we’ll simply sit, breathing and counting, breathing and counting, without any sense of worry, pressure, or expectation. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Wed, 15 May 2024 - 10min - 89 - Box Breathing
In this meditation we’ll begin by going through a few rounds of box breathing together — inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding, each to a count of four. Then we’ll just sit for a few moments, allowing our body and mind to settle, noticing any effects, subtle or otherwise, from the practice. Box breathing is a wonderful tool for calming down the mind and coming into stillness. It can be used as a completely standalone exercise, but it also makes a great beginning to longer meditation sessions, helping us to ground and settle. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Tue, 14 May 2024 - 06min - 88 - Shoulders Up, Shoulders Down
In this meditation we’ll experiment with some subtle mindful movements, lifting and lowering the shoulders in rhythm with our breathing. Mindful movement offers us a more embodied, externalised anchor to work with, which can be really complimentary to our regular practice of stillness. Moving the body slowly and deliberately, taking note of the sensations that arise, and placing our full attention on the movements, allows us to relate to the body in a much more intimate and direct way. It can also be deeply relaxing to simply perform a physical movement slowly and repetitively. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Fri, 10 May 2024 - 09min - 87 - Just the Out Breath
In this meditation, after settling and tuning into the rhythm and flow of the breath, we’ll begin to focus our attention on just the out-breath — paying close attention to the breath as it moves out of the body — and then relax our awareness as the in-breath naturally follows. Without any gaining ideas or expectations, we can simply observe how it feels, in both the body and the mind, to bring some gentle awareness to the exhale, noticing whatever we notice as the breath flows out of the body. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 09 May 2024 - 10min - 86 - Breathing Through the Feet
In this meditation we’ll bring our attention down to the soles of the feet. From there we’ll begin to visualise the breath moving up through the body — from the feet to the head — and back down again before settling once more on the feet. Anchoring ourselves in this way, by imagining the breath flowing through the feet, can help us to feel more grounded in our experience, connecting with a deeper sense of stability and rootedness. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Thu, 02 May 2024 - 07min - 85 - Still Water
In this meditation we’ll visualise a pond, focussing on the still, calm surface of the water. Settling into this image, we’ll begin to invite the peaceful qualities of the water into our own experience, noticing the natural and ever-present qualities of stillness and peace that exist behind the busy and hectic veil of day-to-day living. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Fri, 26 Apr 2024 - 12min - 84 - The Breath at the Centre
In this meditation we’ll feel into the sensation of our breath flowing at the very centre of our conscious experience, anchoring ourselves in a feeling of stability, centrality, and constancy. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 23 Apr 2024 - 09min - 83 - No Effort
In this meditation we’ll see how it feels to make no effort whatsoever — simply sitting without any expectations or goals. Sitting with a sense of openness and ease, we can allow any thoughts, feelings, or sensations to simply arise and pass away without feeling the need to react to, or do anything with, them. Practicing with this kind of intentional effortlessness (as paradoxical as that sounds) can sometimes offer a nice change to the more focussed and effortful meditations we’re often used to engaging in. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 22 Apr 2024 - 09min - 82 - Breath Flowing, Body Moving
In this meditation we’ll focus on the connection between the breath and the body, observing the dynamic relationship between the rhythm of our breathing and the movement of our physical body. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 11 Apr 2024 - 10min - 81 - Down in the Feet
In this meditation we’ll sink our awareness down into the feet, feeling the stability and rootedness of our feet against the ground. Using this as an anchor, we’ll rest further into this feeling of contact, allowing ourselves to become stable and steady by simply focussing our attention on the soles of the feet. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 08 Apr 2024 - 10min - 80 - Sitting Still
In this meditation we’ll settle into stillness, anchoring ourselves in the physical act of sitting still. Using our body as an anchor, we can then become aware of all the movement going on around us — both outside in the world and inside in our mind — and simply allow it all to ebb and flow around this centre of stillness that we’re cultivating by simply sitting in quiet, motionless presence. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Wed, 03 Apr 2024 - 10min - 79 - Nothing, Nowhere
In this meditation we’ll drop all objects and activities and simply sit, doing nothing and going nowhere. Our days and lives are so full of activity — going places, doing things. By cultivating a conscious state of inactivity, we can begin to invite a more relaxed and carefree atmosphere into both our practice and our days, recognising that sometimes it’s enough just to sit here completely as we are, doing nothing at all. Fri, 01 Mar 2024 - 10min - 78 - Resting in the Heart
In this meditation we’ll sink our attention down into the centre of the chest — connecting with both the physical sensations of this part of the body, as well as the emotional resonance of the space surrounding the heart. The idea of connecting with — and resting in — the heart may seem like an abstract concept, but we’re simply inviting ourselves to tune into the physical area of the chest and to observe what, if anything, arises —physically, mentally, or emotionally. Tue, 27 Feb 2024 - 11min - 77 - Following the Change
In this meditation we’ll work with the flowing and fluid nature of our present-moment experience, becoming aware of the ever-changing pattern of sensory phenomena that constantly surrounds us, and from there beginning to follow this dynamic pattern. Rather than anchoring our attention on a single point or object, we’ll open up our experience and allow ourselves to notice whatever arises — whether it’s a sound, a physical feeling, a thought, or an emotion. In this way we can gently begin to cultivate a wider, more open and receptive state of being. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Fri, 23 Feb 2024 - 11min - 76 - Each and Every Breath
In this meditation we’ll set an intention to follow each and every breath all the way through — from the beginning of the inhale to the end of the exhale. By setting the fluid movement of the breath as our object of meditation, we can begin to experience how it feels to cultivate presence and awareness in the midst of change and motion. Not only this, but the ever-present and rhythmic nature of the breath makes it a very reliable and accessible object to work with — one that can encourage peace and relaxation as well as concentration and mindful awareness. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Wed, 21 Feb 2024 - 08min - 75 - Receiving the Breath
In this meditation we’ll begin to notice the automatic, autonomous nature of the breath — observing how it moves and flows on its own, without the need for our intervention. From there we’ll allow ourselves to let go and simply receive the breath, without trying to control or alter it in any way. This way of perceiving and interacting with the breath can encourage us to move into a more open and receptive meditative space, and can invite us to let go of our habitual tendencies to try to control the elements of our experience. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 19 Feb 2024 - 14min - 74 - Light Over the Body
In this meditation we’ll visualise a band of light descending over the body from the scalp down to the feet. We’ll invite this light to bring warmth and relaxation to each part of the body that it passes over, and feel ourselves grounding and settling as it moves further towards the feet. This practice is similar to a body scan meditation, except we won’t be lingering for as long at each body part — instead we’ll allow the light to briefly touch over the body, inviting a sense of flow and rhythm to the experience. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Fri, 16 Feb 2024 - 11min - 73 - Just Listening
In this meditation we’ll tune into our sense of hearing, and start to become aware of the ever-present soundscapes that surround us. Rather than actively listening, we’ll cultivate an attitude of openness — just allowing ourselves to spontaneously and naturally hear the sounds that are constantly arising and dissolving in our environment.
I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day.

Thu, 08 Aug 2024 - 13min - 72 - A Peaceful Gathering
In this meditation we’ll tune into our natural desire for peace — both on a personal level (in ourselves) and on an broader level (in the world) — and feel what it’s like to visualise ourselves breathing this wish for peace out into the world. From there we’ll expand the visualisation, imagining ourselves surrounded by all the other people in the world who, just like us, want to live peacefully. We’ll sense this desire all around us, and imagine breathing it into ourselves — taking in the peaceful wishes of those around us on the inhale, and giving out our own wish for peace on the exhale. In this way, we can begin to open up to the constant potential for peace that exists both within and around us. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Mon, 12 Feb 2024 - 12min - 71 - Breathing the Big Sky
In this meditation we’ll visualise the open sky, and imagine ourselves breathing in its positive qualities of spaciousness, openness, and clarity. By connecting with the sky in this way, and feeling ourselves absorbing its natural characteristics, we can begin to invite a more open, expansive, and all-embracing attitude into our meditation and, hopefully, into the rest of our day. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Fri, 09 Feb 2024 - 11min - 70 - Putting Down the Thought
In this meditation we’ll experiment with becoming aware of our thoughts and — rather than clinging to them, engaging with them, or pushing them away — simply putting them down. In this way we can begin to cultivate a sense of non-attachment to the thoughts that arise in the mind, seeing them simply as mental impressions that we can choose to set aside if we wish. Cultivating this kind of attitude can really help us to avoid labelling our mental activity as bad — or something that should be resisted — and instead encourage us to take a more neutral and balanced perspective on the activities of the wandering mind. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Wed, 07 Feb 2024 - 10min - 69 - A Smile in the Mind
In this meditation we’ll bring to mind the image of a smile, and allow the energy of this smile to flow through our body, filling us with a sense of peace, warmth, and joy. We can also direct the energy of the smile to certain parts of the body to help bring a sense of softness and soothing to our physical and emotional experience. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 05 Feb 2024 - 10min - 68 - Starry Sky
In this meditation we’ll imagine ourselves sitting under a clear night sky, observing the stars and becoming aware of their qualities of stillness, steadiness, and calm. We’ll then set an intention to absorb and embody these star-like qualities for ourselves — becoming, in our own way, more still and peaceful as we sit under this open night sky. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Fri, 02 Feb 2024 - 07min - 67 - The Boat
In this meditation we’ll visualise ourselves sitting in a boat, in the centre of a lake, completely at rest. We’ll imagine that the stillness of our body and mind affects the stillness of the lake, making the water calm, clear, and motionless. Visualising stillness in this way — both internally (in our body and mind) and externally (in the water) — may help us to connect more deeply with the experience, practice, and cultivation of peace and stillness. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. This is a natural soundscape for meditation and relaxation. There’s no talking or guidance — just an ambient recording which I hope might provide a bit of peace and stillness. You are invited to use this track as a backdrop for meditation, an aid for falling sleep, or just as a relaxing ambient to listen to for a few minutes of calm and rest. I really hope you enjoy it. Wed, 31 Jan 2024 - 02min - 65 - A Moment of Rest
In this meditation we’ll take a moment just to rest — and by dong this we can embrace the rare opportunity to spend a few minutes simply doing nothing. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 30 Jan 2024 - 07min - 64 - Watching the Nose
In this meditation we’ll watch the breath at the tip of the nose, focussing on the sensation of the air as it flows through our nostrils. The nose offers a simple but really effective anchor for mindfulness meditation — it’s relatively easy to tune into, and for many people the sensations here are strong enough to hold the attention (which also makes it easier for us to notice when the mind wanders). I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 29 Jan 2024 - 07min - 63 - A Place of Rest
In this meditation we’ll visualise ourselves sitting in a place of sanctuary and safety — somewhere that evokes in us a feeling of deep rest and calm — and we’ll just stay here for a few minutes, allowing this restful place to fill us with peace and stillness. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 23 Jan 2024 - 12min - 61 - The Still Point
In this meditation we’ll settle into the rhythm and flow of the breath, and from there seek out the still point in our experience — the quiet, calm, and ever-present space behind the constantly flowing nature of our physical, emotional, and mental life. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 22 Jan 2024 - 06min - 60 - Coming Back
In this meditation we’ll begin by anchoring our attention in the breath. Then we’ll sit, resting in the sensations of breathing — and when the mind wanders, we’ll simply come back to the breath. We’ll do this over and over again, just coming back to the anchor — the breath — each time we find ourselves lost in thought. In this way, each and every time we come back to the breath we’re cultivating mindful awareness, breaking out of old mental patterns, and taking a positive step towards a more conscious way living. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. Thu, 18 Jan 2024 - 03min - 58 - The Open Door
In this meditation we’ll imagine ourselves opening a door onto a vast and beautiful landscape, and just standing, looking out over the scene, connecting with the deep and ancient stillness of the environment before us. Nature has such a powerful way of bringing a sense of calm perspective and comfort to our experience, and by visualising a vast, open landscape we can perhaps begin to invite some of that calmness and comfort into the many moments of our busy days. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 16 Jan 2024 - 10min - 56 - Grounding Through the Feet
In this meditation we’ll send our attention down to the soles of the feet, using the physical connection between our feet and the floor as a way of inviting stability, strength, and grounding into our experience. By simply noticing our feet against the floor, we can begin to feel more secure and supported within ourselves and our surroundings. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Mon, 15 Jan 2024 - 07min - 55 - Sitting by a Fire
In this meditation we’ll imagine ourselves sitting by a fire, feeling warmed, soothed, and comforted by the flames. We’ll then begin to visualise any thoughts that arise as sparks, simply appearing and disappearing. In this way we can use the image of a burning fire as both a source of relaxation and rest for the mind, and also as a means of loosening our attachment to the thoughts and fantasies that arise as we sit and meditate. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Wed, 10 Jan 2024 - 11min - 53 - Just This
In this meditation we’ll rest in what’s here — just this moment — and recognise that although we may bring many different goals and aspirations to our meditation practice, ultimately paying attention to the moment we find ourselves in — the breath we’re breathing, the chair we’re sitting in, and whatever’s present just here and just now — is all we really need. Because in the end being present with, and aware of, just this moment (whatever “just this moment” might be for us right now) is the foundation of living mindfully. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Thank you so much for sitting and practicing with me. Disclaimer: All content and information provided by One Bowl Mindfulness is intended for entertainment purposes only. Tue, 09 Jan 2024 - 08min - 52 - Attending to the Flower
In this meditation we’ll form an image of a flower in our mind’s eye, and simply hold it in our attention. We won't try to do anything with the image or achieve any special state of mind — we'll just attend to the flower, just watching it and keeping it in the centre of our awareness. By cultivating this kind of single-pointed awareness on a mental image, we can develop our power of concentration whilst simultaneously calming the mind. Mon, 08 Jan 2024 - 06min - 51 - The Anchor
In this meditation we’ll visualise an anchor, sinking to the bottom of a river, as a way of settling into a state of deeper rest and stillness. We’ll use this image to evoke feelings of strength, settledness, and grounding, in order to bring a sense of calm confidence into our experience. Being like an anchor we can remain still, solid, and unwavering in the midst of life’s continuous flow. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Fri, 05 Jan 2024 - 10min - 50 - Finding the Centre - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll focus our attention on the belly, visualising it as the centre of the body, and in doing so centring ourselves, both physically and mentally, into a more grounded and comfortable experience. By consciously concentrating on this idea of the centre, we can invite a sense of stability, strength, and grounding into our practice — and, hopefully, into the rest of our day. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Thu, 04 Jan 2024 - 07min - 49 - In Through the Nose, Out Through the Feet
In this meditation we’ll visualise the breath entering through the nose, moving down the body to fill up the belly, and then continuing to flow down the legs and out through the feet. As we visualise this flow, we’ll begin to imagine that each in-breath brings with it fresh new energy, whilst each out-breath settles the body into an ever-deepening state of relaxed, restful awareness. Wed, 03 Jan 2024 - 09min - 48 - Staying with the Hands - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll drop our attention into the hands, anchoring ourselves in the physical sensations present in this part of the body. By intentionally placing the hands near or on the belly, we’re creating an external anchor similar to the internal anchor of belly breathing. For some people, focussing on bodily sensations is more easily accessible and can be more grounding. But in general, resting our attention in a particular part of the body is often a very effective way of coming back to ourselves and reconnecting with our immediate, present-moment experience. Tue, 02 Jan 2024 - 09min - 47 - Next Breath, New Breath - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll turn our attention to the breath, and then start to consider how, both literally and metaphorically, each breath is completely new. Each and every inhale provides the space and opportunity for renewal, just as each and every exhale provides the potential for release. By viewing our breath in this way — as a constant source of renewal and fresh energy — we can come into a deeper sense of inner strength and comfort, knowing that the potential to begin again and start fresh is always, literally, right under our nose. Mon, 01 Jan 2024 - 08min - 46 - Mindful Breathing
In this meditation we’ll just take a few minutes to sit and breathe with mindful awareness, becoming conscious of the movement, flow, and feeling of the breath as it enters and exits the body. Taking just a few moments out of the day to reconnect with the breath can be a really powerful and effective way of cultivating calmness, clarity, and a sense of grounding in the midst of our busy lives. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Fri, 29 Dec 2023 - 04min - 45 - Settling into Stillness - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll drop into a space of quiet restfulness, allowing ourselves to settle into stillness by simply sitting. It’s not often that we get time to really rest in a quiet space, so this can be a great opportunity to step aside from our daily commitments and simply sit, enjoying the peace of doing nothing. Thu, 28 Dec 2023 - 07min - 44 - The Path of the Breath - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll follow the path of the breath as it enters the body through the nostrils, travels down the throat and into the chest and belly. We’ll continue to follow this path as the breath reverses its movement — up out of the belly and chest, through the throat and out of the nose, leaving the body entirely. Watching the breath so closely allows us to develop a more intimate relationship with the ever-present phenomenon of breathing, whilst strongly grounding us in the body and the present moment experience. Wed, 27 Dec 2023 - 05min - 43 - Resting on the Flame - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll visualise the flame of a candle, anchoring our awareness in it. By concentrating on this kind of mental object we can bring clarity and focus to our experience, giving ourselves a simple and clear image with which we can be present and attentive. Visualising a candle and its flame also brings a dimension of stillness and peace to the practice, allowing us to rest our mind’s eye on a naturally calming and soothing image. These recordings are offered freely. I really hope that they can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Tue, 26 Dec 2023 - 08min - 42 - Snow - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll visualise ourselves standing in the middle of a snow-covered landscape, tuning into the different sensory elements of the environment. We’ll move from watching our breath to listening to the silence of the snow to visualising snowflakes falling on an outstretched hand. Hopefully this meditation can bring some peace and serenity into your day, whilst at the same time filling you with the characteristics of silence, stillness, and joy so often associated with snow. Fri, 22 Dec 2023 - 08min - 41 - Flowing with the Breath - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll tune into the feeling of the breath, flowing in and out of the body, and merge our attention with this sensation of flow. This can help to soothe the mind, whilst at the same time developing our power of concentration by providing us with a simple object on which to focus. These recordings are offered freely. Thu, 21 Dec 2023 - 08min - 40 - Soundscape #2
This is a soundscape for meditation. It doesn’t contain any talking or guidance — it’s just an ambient recording which I hope might provide a bit of peace and stillness. You are invited to use this track as a backdrop for meditation, an aid for falling sleep, or just as a relaxing ambient to listen to for a few minutes of relaxation and rest. Wed, 20 Dec 2023 - 07min - 39 - Three Questions - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll explore three questions: Where am I? What can I hear? How am I feeling? We’ll approach these questions experientially, using our senses to really come into contact with the simple reality of our present-moment experience. These three questions, or any similar questions, can be used at any time during the day as a method to ground ourselves in our current experience. They don’t need to be contemplated in a formal meditation, but can instead act as a simple tool to keep us constantly engaged with our daily reality. Tue, 19 Dec 2023 - 07min - 38 - The Conscious Breath - Guided Meditation
In this short meditation we’ll just sit and take a few conscious breaths, reconnecting with our body, mind, and the simple yet profound process of breathing. Taking a bit of time out of the day (even if it’s just a few minutes) to focus entirely on our breath can be a great way to centre and calm the mind. Mon, 18 Dec 2023 - 03min - 37 - Open Awareness - Guided Meditation
In this meditation we’ll sit in a completely open and receptive state, allowing our awareness to rest, without choice or direction, in the sensations that arise around and within us. Cultivating this kind of choice-less awareness can often feel challenging, as there’s no obvious anchor or object for us to fix our attention on, but allowing ourselves to let go and simply trust that our awareness doesn’t need to be directed in any particular way is an important aspect of our ongoing practice, ultimately helping us to enter and dwell in a state of beginner’s mind. Thu, 14 Dec 2023 - 08min - 35 - View from a Mountaintop
In this meditation we’ll imagine ourselves sitting on top of a mountain, taking in the vast landscape below and dwelling in the silence and stillness of the scene. By visualising ourselves so far removed from the everyday world — sitting in such a high, quiet, and peaceful place — we can begin to invite a sense of clarity, calm, and openness into our experience. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Thank you so much for practicing with me. Disclaimer: All content and information provided by One Bowl Mindfulness is intended for entertainment purposes only.
