  • 42 - Rural Banking Inquiry

041 | The rural banking inquiry, we have all heard about it but were we really aware of how necessary it was! We certainly weren't form Reserve bank policy settings to the actual banks themselves and even as farmers how we handle the situation. And overhaul is well called for. Thanks to the team at NZAB (not sponsored, just really liked their info) for putting together such thorough, informative information on this and providing a voice for the sector at the beehive!

  • 39 - What's it got to do with the price of milk?

038 | This week Emily dove into the differences in milk on our supermarket shelves, aside from price why do prices vary so greatly? Does it make a difference nutrtionally and importantly are the farmers earning more from some of your purchases than others?

In the news we touch on a new tech device out of the University of Canterbury - LuMoo that supports early detection of Johne's disease (their give-a-little page to support them on their trip to Paris is here) Zespri's push to secure year round shelf space in the northern hemisphere, the growing wild rabbit population and how pests should be managed.

Finally, we heard your asks for a conversation about Rural Women's Mental Health across the country, unfortunately we can't be there in person this year but we have put our heads together to make the next best thing happen - a webinar - with the most epic panel - Deanne Parkes, Charlotte Heald and Kathryn Wright. Grab your tickets now!
