In this study today we see Jesus in Isaiah’s prophecy—Isaiah 11:1–3—with the seven Spirits of God resting on Him, and His delighting in the spirit of the fear of the Lord. Derek emphasizes that if Jesus needed the fear of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit imparted it to Him, how much more do we stand in need?
- 1782 - Fear of the Lord, The (4)
- 1781 - Fear of the Lord, The (5)
The fear of the Lord is the key that unlocks wisdom, understanding, and so much more. Derek touches on Scriptures from Job, Psalms, and Proverbs that very clearly state these important truths. The only channel to receive the wisdom of God is the fear of the Lord. It comes into your spirit and enables you to begin to see God’s purposes and counsel.
- 1780 - Fear of the Lord, The (6)
Derek begins this week looking at various passages in Psalms concerning the fear of the Lord—focusing on its benefits and blessings. We receive direction on how to develop this fear and what it can mean in our lives if we’re willing to be taught. Finally, we get a picture of the man who fears the Lord and all the blessings that are his.
- 1779 - Fear of the Lord, The (7)
- 1778 - Fear of the Lord, The (8)
- 1777 - Fear of the Lord, The (9)
Derek gives a sketch of a man whose heart is perfect or fully committed to the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water that sends out its roots by the stream. That tree doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its leaves are always green. There are no worries in a year of drought and it never fails to bear fruit. In the fear of the Lord, our roots go down to the source of life, which is God Himself.
- 1776 - Fear of the Lord, The (10)
Derek finishes this study with steps leading to attaining the fear of the Lord. The first is to make a decision to seek it, and turn yourself over to the Holy Spirit, your Teacher. God has put men in the body of Christ to teach and rule—let them into your life. Let the Word have first place in you. Study and be a doer of the Word of God.
- 1775 - Spiritual Warfare (1)
Civil War. World War. Nuclear War. These are familiar terms. But what about a conflict that involves the whole universe? We’re familiar with such ideas, but only through science fiction stories. However, a universal war rages right now between two opposing kingdoms. It involves you and me, and the prince of darkness! Hear more today!

Preaching the Word stops the enemy cold. When the apostle Paul preached the Word without reservation or compromise for two years, He reached all of Asia; extraordinary miracles occurred; the supernatural became the natural; evil spirits were driven out. It can happen the same way today—the Word changes not!

Circumstances in our lives can sometimes make us feel miserable. The car breaks down, the kids get sick, our grades aren’t so hot. Any of the above could give someone a sour disposition. Today Derek tells us that when we’re faced with circumstances such as these we need to do one thing and one thing only to turn those circumstances around.
- 1757 - Thanksgiving (4)
Does it ever seem like your prayers are falling ineffectively from your mouth? If so, then you may be missing one important aspect. What is it? Today Derek looks at several biblical examples of effective and ineffective prayer. We’ll see that there are times where prayer may not even be necessary. Sound preposterous? Listen close as Derek explains.

- 1755 - Praise (1)
Praise runs like a golden thread throughout the whole Bible, from beginning to end. It is eternal and its origin is in heaven. Praise is the ceaseless occupation of all the glorious and eternal beings who inhabit heaven, who enjoy the closest and most uninterrupted access to God Himself. Uninterrupted access calls for uninterrupted praise

- 1753 - Praise (3)
- 1752 - Praise (4)
Today, hear about another facet of praise—praise is actually a powerful weapon of spiritual warfare. Derek said, “Of course, the use of the word ‘weapon’ in connection with praise presupposes a war. It presupposes that as Christians, we are involved in a war and this is indeed the truth. . . . So we better know what the war is about and the weapons that God has provided us.” Which is exactly what you’ll learn about as you listen today.

- 1750 - Worship (1)
To be acceptable to God and conform to His holiness, there are essential conditions we must fulfill in the inward attitude of our heart. In fact, the inward attitude of our heart alone makes our worship acceptable to God. If we don’t have that right, we are merely going through the motions. But if we do have that right—the benefits are enormous! Find out more as you listen today.
- 1749 - Worship (2)
Derek’s talk today deals with the inward attitude of the heart, which alone can make our worship acceptable to God. The Samaritan woman talked about the geographical place of worship. However, even before the Temple was destroyed, God made alternative provision for His people to worship Him. It was change from a physical location to a spiritual condition: “in spirit and in truth.”

“a continuing expectation of good from God.”
In today’s message, Derek explains that this is not just wishful thinking, for people maintain many hopes that do not answer that description. Faith is in the present; hope is in the future. Derek points out several other distinctions between faith and hope. - 1732 - Faith (4)
Faith determines our joy!
This teaching is eye-opening. Derek Prince makes this great point: true faith produces righteousness. It changes us. The measure of faith we have is the measure of righteousness and life that we enjoy. We’re begin to realize more fully now why the Scripture says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” - 1731 - Faith (5)
Why is faith so important? What happens if we don’t live by faith?
Central to Derek’s teaching today is the ability to hear the voice of God. The picture painted in the book of Hebrews plainly portrays the dangers of unbelief—of not hearing God’s voice. It also clearly explains the benefits of faith. - 1730 - Faith (6)

- 1725 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (1)
Like Joshua, learn how to enter your own personal promised land!
Using the biblical character as his pattern, Derek Prince points out how the promises given to Joshua can apply to any Christian. If we will not let the Word of God depart from our mouth, if we will meditate on it, and if we will practice it, then we will be prosperous and have good success. - 1724 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (2)
The entrance into spiritual life, is through forgiveness received from God.

For those of you have not yet made Jesus the Lord of your life, you'll hear how to be "born again." God loves you and He has made a way for you to be part of His family. - 1722 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (4)
If you're plagued by mental torment, don't miss this message!
In the world today there are ever-increasing, never diminishing pressures far too numerous to even mention. They can make you feel rejected and lonely because others don't seem to be troubled by what troubles you. As you listen today you will hear Derek explain how to close the door on that pressure. - 1721 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (5)
- 1720 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (6)
- 1719 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (7)
Derek helps us to see that if we delight ourselves in the Lord, really seeking to please the Lord and find our satisfaction in Him, then He will give us the desires of our heart. How does this happen? By the Holy Spirit He implants in our hearts the desires He wants to fulfill. Then our desires become godly rather than self-centered and self-pleasing.
- 1718 - Walking Through the Land of God's Promises (8)
For today's teaching, Derek turns to the book of Ephesians to establish certain standards of conduct for employees that the New Testament clearly lays down. The words are addressed to slaves (or in modern terms, we could say "servants" or "employees." What responsibility do we have in experiencing favor on the job?

Call for the elders of the church when you are ill.
Our first tendency is to call the doctor when we are sick. But what does the Bible say? Derek explains that there are many thousands of Christians who, when they get sick, are not aware that Scripture clearly tells us to "call for the elders of the church." - 1710 - How To Find God's Plan For Your Life (1)

In finding God's plan for your life, the first step is being born again in Christ. The second step is presenting your body to God as a living sacrifice. Then, when those steps are taken, God begins to renew your mind-to change the whole way you think. His will is unfolded in three successive phases: it is good, then acceptable, and finally perfect.

- 1580 - Old Self and the New Self, The (1)
Listen today to get acquainted with the nature and origins of two persons—the old self and the new self. We are all born with a crooked, rebellious nature, which is the “old self.” Not only is the old self rebellious, it is also corrupt, spiritually, morally and physically. But, as born-again believers we are to lay aside the “old self” and put on the “new self” that has been created in the likeness of God—in righteousness and holiness.
- 1579 - Old Self and the New Self, The (2)
Execution is the solution!
Yesterday Derek taught on identifying the old and new self, today he will teach on the need to learn God’s solution for the problem of the old self. Listen as Derek shares three things which are not God’s solution for the old nature: self, law, and religion. Those methods cannot change the rebellious and corrupt nature of the old self. God’s remedy is execution of the old nature—the execution that took place when Jesus died on the cross for us. - 1578 - Old Self and the New Self, The (3)
The very nature of Jesus; within us.
Today, we explored how the new self is the product of God’s Word, the truth. In the new self, God’s purpose and His image are imparted to us. The nature of the new self can be described by the words, righteousness and holiness. The new self is born from the seed of the Word of God, which is divine, eternal, incorruptible, and so our nature produced from that seed also is divine, eternal, and incorruptible. It’s the very nature of Jesus Himself. - 1577 - Old Self and the New Self, The (4)
Realize the fulfillment of God’s purposes in you life.
The new person within us must be brought to maturity through a process of cultivation. As we spend time in God’s Word, we behold His glory and we are changed by His truth. Thereafter we must systematically and progressively deny the demands of the old self and yield instead to the influence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit wants to enlighten our eyes to see what God has for us in the new man. - 1576 - Old Self and the New Self, The (5)
Are you willing to embrace God’s purposes?
God’s purposes for His people have never changed. He’s given us the power and ability to do just what He has created us to do through the incorruptible seed of His Word and the power of His Holy Spirit. The questions we must answer are; Are we willing to lay aside the old man, and put on the new man? Are we willing to yield our lives in obedience to God and His Word? Are we willing to take up our place in the Body of Christ and fulfill the great commission and make disciples of all nations?
