MV021 Brothers Bio 'Brothers' is the musical collaboration of Samuel and Seth Nolan, two Gunditjmara siblings raised in central Victoria with an ongoing connection to the Kulin Nation. Inspired by the many dreaming stories and Lores of Aboriginal cultures, they combine recordings of Elders stories and Country with electronic productions to create contemporary expressions of Aboriginal culture. MV019 Dirty Versachi Bio Naarm / Melbourne-based DJ, producer and singer, Dirty Versachi is an alien creature assimilating on their new planet by channelling feelings of isolation into innovative new art. Teaming up with co-producer Andrew Huhtanen McEwan (Huntly), mixing engineer Tim Watt (MUTO, Golden Features) and mastering engineer Klaus Hill (PNAU, Ministry Of Sound) to sculpt the DirtyVersachi sound. Although they are the new kid on the block, since their launch in May 2021, they have made waves within the Australian music industry achieving support from triple j, MTV Upload and Spotify editorial playlists (Just chill, New Dance Beats, New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, Sunday Sessions, to name a few). MV018 Cara Murphy Cara has become a staple in Melbourne's dynamic House Music scene, having immersed herself in its pulsating beats for over 15 years. Her journey began in the vibey corners of local spots like Q Bar, 161, and Saratoga, where she first fell head over heels for Classic House. Not one to stay in her comfort zone, Cara soon found herself at events like Sunny, where her musical horizons broadened, sparking a passion for Progressive/Melodic House and Techno. MV015 Sunshine Picture this- A dance floor you don’t want to leave. It’s heaving with an aura infectious to those still waiting out the front of the club. The energy is ablaze with electronic music devotees, smiles on faces and drinks in the air, where everyone unites and rejoices when the aptly named Sunshine graces those coveted decks. With an anthemic groove to hook you back in, the Melbourne DJ, producer and curator of Disco Faith Recordings strings together a renowned slew of nu disco, soulful house, jacking house, progressive house, Detroit techno and driving techno to make you want to get up and go out. Having taken to the turntables everyday, Sunshine garnered cheeky late night rave slots leading to iconic headline shows and it was evident that Melbourne was perfect for her. With 22 years as a DJ she has truly devoted herself to the house, disco and techno journey, watching Melbourne flock to her dance floor at Revolver Saturdays for the 7am Rise & Shine session every Saturday morning for 19 years, where she’s also played with the likes of Gary Beck, Radio Slave, Seth Troxler and Sven Vath. Sunshine’s residency at Poof Doof since 2012 has also been one for the record books. MV014 Kazuma Onishi Kazuma Onishi is a Japanese DJ & Producer based in Melbourne, Australia. With a strong gravitational pull towards Groovy Techno, Kazuma has a diverse range and taste in music, often playing Minimal House, Deep House, and Breakbeats. Using a unique and interesting style of mixing developed over years of playing different styles, including hip-hop, R&B, and Trance, Kazuma often finds unique and new ways of blending tracks and genres. As a producer he is able to incorporate loops and samples into his sets, drawing on his wide array of inspiration to create a multi-layered groove and colourful journey. His music is often hypnotic, spacey, and high energy with a driving sense of direction balanced with trance-inducing melody. MV013 The Oddness The word ‘Odd’ has many connotations but fits perfectly when describing the sound of Melbourne producer and performer Warwick Ferguson through his genre bending project The Oddness. Sitting at the forefront of the Downtempo / Organic house scene in Australia, the last 3 years has seen him perform at Australia’s premium festivals including Rainbow Serpent, Esoteric, Elements and Let Them Eat Cake, both as a solo act and with his 3-piece band including multi-instrumentalists Dylan Jarrad and Timmus. A prolific output of music, including three Albums, have been released through labels including Sol Selectas, Beat & Path and Eskimo Recordings. As well as his original music he is widely known for his re-interpretations of classic tracks though his ‘Reworks, Edits and Bootlegs’ series. 2022 saw his production lead to the world of television with multiple works used in advertising projects and is currently working on the soundtrack for a TV series in production. His event Technoir has become an institution in Melbourne; an important Techno destination over its life of over 17 years, showcasing home made talent from across the full spectrum of Techno.
