  • 427 - McGrail Inquiry Final Report, International Men’s Day, International Friendly, Integral Yoga

The final report on the McGrail Inquiry is likely to be ready by late spring 2025 - roughly a year since the public hearing. In the latest update on the report's progress, the inquiry team says additional evidence has been received, and that Chairman, Sir Peter Openshaw, continues to work on the draft. Meanwhile the Police Authority has started the process of recruiting a new Commissioner of Police to take over from Richard Ullger when he retires in April 2025. Christina Cortes brought us the details.

It's International Men’s Day, providing an opportunity to promote discussions and actions that support men's physical and mental health, both to encourage positive role models, and to advocate for a more inclusive society. GP Dr Karl Alvarez and MJ Feeke of the Federation of Small Businesses told us about an event planned to promote a health-focused event exploring men's physical and mental wellbeing.

Gibraltar is out of the UEFA Nations League, with San Marino’s win over Lietchenstein last night, knocking our squad from the top of the group. Our reporter Jose Mari Ruiz watched the game and gave us his thoughts, and also looked ahead to the international friendly against Moldova at Europa Point Stadium this evening.

And, since 1973 Swami Divyananda has been travelling the world teaching Integral Yoga. She took monastic vows in 1975 from the great saint and yogi, Sri Swami Satchidananda. Now she's a traveling monk, Swami Divyananda is constantly “on the road.”

  • 426 - Queen’s Hotel, Careers Fair, Nations League, Treasure Hunt

The planned eviction and relocation of residents of the hostel at the Queen's Hotel site has been paused. This follows protests with residents concerned about the conditions they would be expected to live in at the Sunrise Motel. Our reporter Shelina Assomul spoke to Minister for Housing Pat Orfila.

Gibraltar drew 1 all against San Marino in their last Nations League game. Gibraltar remains top of the group for now, but there's one more match to be played. The squad meanwhile will bring an end to their international window with a friendly match against Moldova that's tomorrow at 6 at Europa Point. Jose Mari Ruiz spoke to defender Bernardo Lopes as well as head coach Julio Ribas.

After a 4-year break the Careers Fair returns next Thursday at the Bayside Sports Complex. The event hopes to unlock potential, build connections, and explore the possibilities that will shape the careers of tomorrow. We spoke to senior youth workers Charlene Figueras and Jamie Napoli, both of whom are fully invested in guiding today's youth into adulthood.

And, there’s only 3 and a half weeks to go until the GBC Open Day and one of the biggest events of the night is the Treasure Hunt. Organiser  John Henry Mauro of the Scouts told us what goes into planning and how they keep it fresh every year.
