Our new distribution Channel. Classic Radio Theater features great radio programs that warmed the hearts of millions for the better part of the 20th century. Host Wyatt Cox brings the best of radio classics back to life with both the passion of a long time (as in more than half a century) fan and the heart of a forty year news man. But more than just “playing the hits”, Wyatt supplements the first hour of each day’s show with historical information on the day and date in history including audio that takes you back to World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, Reagan, Carter, Nixon, LBJ. It’s a true slice of life from not just radio’s past, but America’s past.
Wyatt produces 21 hours a week of freshly minted Classic Radio Theater presentations each week, and each day’s broadcast is timely and entertaining!

    First a look at this day in History.

    Then Dr Christian starring Gene Hersholdt, originally broadcast November 14, 1937, 87 years ago, Steve and Charlotte Dixon.  Charlotte Dixon has decided to divorce Steve because he’s not sophisticated enough for her. She wants to move to the city and write poetry.

    Followed by Gunsmoke starring William Conrad, originally broadcast November 14, 1953, 71 years ago, Professor Lute Bone.  The Professor is selling wormseed tonic that cures just about everything, possibly because it contains opium!

    Then Dark Fantasy, originally broadcast November 14, 1941, 83 years ago,  The Man Who Came Back.  A killing after an argument about a man's wife leads to a promise to return from the grave for vengeance. 

    Followed by The Green Hornet, originally broadcast November 14, 1942, 82 years ago, Torpedo On Wheels.  After a dynamite truck explodes, the Hornet matches wits with a gang who claims to know his secret identity.

    Finally Superman, originally broadcast November 14, 1941, 83 years ago, The Pan-American Highway. Clark, Perry White and Lois Lane take a secret aircraft aloft for a test flight. Three groups of engineers have disappeared while working in the Andes. This is a job for Clark Kent!   Bud Collyer (who has a bad case of Laryngitis) is Clark, Julian Noa is Perry Mason, and Joan Alexander is Lois Lane. I didn’t know that Superman could get Laryngitis!

    We follow that with Jeff Regan Investigator starring Jack Webb, originally broadcast November 13, 1948, 76 years ago, The Guy from Gower Gulch. Who shot Davey Crockett? No, it wasn't Mexican soldiers! Crockett was bumped off as soon as he was bailed out of jail. What is the connection between wounded horses and a roll of film?

    Then Macabre, originally broadcast November 13, 1961, 63 years ago, Final Resting Place. An escaped madman and his victim are willingly buried alive.

    Finally, Lum and Abner, originally broadcast November 13, 1941, 83 years ago, New York Library and Lions.

    Then Escape, originally broadcast November 12, 1950, 74 years ago, Earth Abides Part 2 starring John Dehner.  Part 2 of the adaptation of the George R. Stewart post-apocalyptic novel.  If you think the adaptation is great, I strongly encourage you to read the book!

    Followed by The Whistler, originally broadcast November 12, 1945, 79 years ago, The Seeing Eye.  A sea captain has a strange relationship with his first mate, much to the sorrow of the second mate who swears to get a strange revenge, and gets it!

    Then The Line-Up starring William Johnstone, originally broadcast November 12, 1952, 72 years ago, The Buggered Bunco Boys.   A con-man has been preying on the families of dead soldiers. 

    Followed by Yours Truly Johnny Dollar starring Mandel Kramer, originally broadcast November 12, 1961, 63 years ago, The Wrong One Matter.  Johnny is out in the Everglades to investigate a decomposing corpse.

    Finally Superman, originally broadcast November 12, 1941, 83 years ago, The Silver Arrow.  The discovery of, "The Silver Arrow! The end of the adventure.

    We follow that with The Fred Allen Show, originally broadcast November 11, 1945, 79 years ago, Mr. Mob Buster. The Allen's Alley question: "How do you think new scientific developments are going to affect you?" "McGee and McGee" (the songwriters) appear in the alley. Fred is trying to buy a radio, guest Monty Woolley wants to give his away. Fred and Monty act in "Mr. Mob-Buster," a combination of "Mr. District Attorney" and "Gangbusters." Monty is trying to capture "Charlie The Chicken."

    Then The CBS Radio Workshop, originally broadcast November 11, 1956, 68 years ago, Report on the We-Uns. A portrait of our culture, as it might appear to those six thousand years in the future.

    Followed by Mr Keen Tracer of Lost Persons starring Bennett Kilpack, originally broadcast November 10, 1949, 75 years ago, The Engaged Girl Murder Case.  Mr. Keen solves a murder case while on horseback!

    Then Mr. and Mrs North starring  Barbara Britton and Richard Denning, originally broadcast November 10, 1953, 71 years ago, Death Comes in Cans. The Norths want to go fishing.  But it appears there’s a case of canned tuna that have more than tuna in them that got dropped into the bay. 

    Followed by Suspense, originally broadcast November 10, 1952, 72 years ago, The Frightened City starring Frank Lovejoy.  A soldier returns home to find that his brother-in-law has been murdered, along with three other people. But, nobody's talking! 

    Finally Superman, originally broadcast November 10, 1941, 83 years ago, The Silver Arrow.  Mary Lewis is found in the ghost town; tied up and gagged! She's been on the trail of, "The Silver Arrow" as well.
